Spare us the "good for the kids to win" nonsense and just come out and admit you are disappointed that we won.
Man, you're beating that drum hard. It's OK to be happy with a win but not satisfied with the product we're seeing on the field.
Sure-if you're willing to give credit where credit is due. But when somebody says "good for the kids to win" it pretty much gives away that they really didn't want us to win but they're trying to cover up for that fact by saying they're happy for only the players.
I said it in an earlier post and I’ll say it again - I’m done with Riley. But I always want to see the Huskers win. I’ve been a fan of Husker football long before Riley walked on campus and will be long after he’s gone. I’ve seen all I need to see in year 3 - less than 60 yards rushing, penalties galore, poor blocking, poor tackling. I’ll give credit where it’s due - the 4th quarter the passing game came alive and produced some unbelievable numbers. Then I go back and review who we played - Purdue. I cannot and will not change my opinion on this coach on a comeback victory over a conference botton dweller. Sorry if that makes me a hater, but a person has to have some level of standards.
Most Husker fans will be disappointed if Mike Riley goes 6-6 and keeps his job. If it means losing to Purdue and winning 5 games instead of 6 and Riley being fired count me in the group saying we would have been better off to lose. Either way this team isn’t going to accomplish anything worthwhile. If Riley stays next year with our much tougher schedule the losses will be more laughable and put us back another year when we can go get a quality coach after this season. Coaches like Frost and Campbell aren’t going to be sitting out there very long. Anyone with common sense knows Riley is not the answer. The coaching is poor and his recruiting is nothing but smoke and mirrors. He is getting enough talent to dominate the likes of Purdue or Rutgers, but we aren’t pulling in enough to compete with the big boys with the type of offense Riley wants to run.
So we'll put you down as one saying you wish we had lost. Sorry "your" team disappointed you. I guess the players should just purposely lose games now because it's better for them?Or maybe they don't have enough "common sense" to know that it's better for them.
I have enough common sense to know Riley was a poor hire. Every year the media and others have made excuses for him. He has fired numerous coaches and things aren’t getting better. By all means keep him next year, so we can go for 3-4 wins and become a bigger joke in college football. The excuses are up. The guy was nothing more than an image hire by Harvey. It’s time to wash our hands and go get a real coach like Frost or Campbell. If we don’t, they will be winning at some other top program very soon and we will be holding our you know what in our hand.
How about when Diaco gets the right players in his system? I think you are letting your emotions get the best of you. I'm not saying we're in great shape or that the coaches/players need to step it up but you're a bit over the top.
