Sam Sledge, OG, Creighton Prep - 6-4/265 at Nebraska this weekend
What were your thoughts about the game and the energy in the stadium this weekend?
"The energy in the stadium was a really cool experience for it being the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. The atmosphere was exciting being on the field and looking at all of the fans around the stadium."
Where does Nebraska see you playing?
"Neither Nebraska nor I have decided what I will be playing in college. I like both and I can get better at both sides of the ball. Either way I would be confident on offense or defense."
What did you think about the line play on both sides of the ball this weekend?
"I think that the line play was good. I think that there is always room for improvement though."
Have you taken any trips to any other schools before this weekend or do you have any planned?
"I went to Iowa State last week for a game visit. I have been invited to several other schools. It woudl be nice to see them all but with my own high school game schedule it will be tough to see all of them. I hope to get back to Nebraska if they invite me."
You have the Miami (Ohio) offer. Have you picked up any others? Do you feel like any other schools are close to offering?
"I have not picked up any more offers. I think that since we have started playing they will be able to see my film and hopefully like what I am doing and I will get more offers."
How is your team doing? How do you think you have been playing?
"We are 1-2 right now. We have lost to the No. 1 and 2 teams in the state. We just took the No. 1 team down to the wire last week. We have been getting better every week. I feel like I have been consistently getting better every week and I can't wait to see where this team goes by the end of the year."

Based on that I think that I could fit into their offense very well because I play very similarly to those guys."
You are committed to Mankato State but what are your thoughts on Nebraska and what has Nebraska talked to you about when it comes to offering?

Kellen Steuben, OG, Bellevue West - weighed 268

"I love that fit and I feel like that where I can really shine and help the team, but I also play defense for my high school team so I can play whatever they want.."
Obviously you are committed to another school but what is the recruiting attention like from Nebraska with you? What other schools haven’t backed off?
"It is really nice to have recruiting attention from your hometown team and the team I grew up cheering for. I’ve been talking with Coach Wilhite for a bit and hopefully I can get a walk on offer. I’ve been talking with Minnesota State, the school I am committed to, and a little with University of St. Thomas. But I think other schools know I’ve locked into Minnesota State and Nebraska."
How is your season going so far? Which positions are you playing?
"It’s going great, we are 3-0 and averaging 6.5 rushing yards per carry and rushing 230 yards a game. I play right guard and defensive tackle."

What were your thoughts about the game and the energy in the stadium yesterday?
"I loved the atmosphere. It’s really cool how much the fans get into the game and how big of a difference they can actually make."
What are your thoughts on the offensive style and the fit for you as an OL at Nebraska?
"The offensive style is awesome and I think my size and athletic ability would fit in well."
What other trips are you planning on taking this fall? Which schools and if you have dates for the trips that would be awesome. Are you holding any offers (scholarship or walk on) and which schools do you think could be close to offering?
"Well I plan on going to North Dakota, Missouri Western and UNK. I don't have any offers right now. I am not sure if there are any schools close to offering."

"Well, not the start we were looking for. We are 0-3 right now looking to get things back on track."
Which positions are you playing?

Kyrell Jordan, WR, Bellevue West
What were your thoughts about the game and the energy in the stadium yesterday?
"It was a great atmosphere. The fans and players had great energy and the tunnel walk gave me chills."
What did you think about the performance today by Nebraska? Lots of points didn’t make it to the scoreboard.
"I feel like the team is always one play away from a huge break or touchdown. There are some things they can work on but that’s part of football. The defense played really good."
Where does Nebraska see you playing for them? What do you think about the fit?
"I think as a wide receiver. I am a deep threat at receiver or even a punt return kick return type of guy."
Do you like the NU offense and the fit for you?
"I like how Nebraska runs it so the defense plays up and chuck it deep. I love it because they run a very similar offense to my high school at Bellevue West."
What other schools have you taken trips to or are you planning to go and visit? Will you make it back to Nebraska?
"i hope to come back to Nebraska very soon. I am trying to get up to South Dakota and Wyoming."
Do you have any offers already or which offers do you think may be close either walk on or scholarship?
"I am still working on getting my first offer. I transferred from Bellevue East but plenty of colleges have been showing interest. I am hoping one of these midwest teams takes a chance on me."
How is the season going for you?
"i start at receiver but also play a little bit of defensive back. kick returner and punt returner as well. The season is going as good as I hoped. We are going in the right direction. There is still plenty of work to do."

Tre'Vonte Buckley, DE, Godwin Heights (Mich.) - 6-1.25/243 yesterday at Nebraska
Are you the younger brother of Ru'Quan? If so, have you been to a game before? What were your thoughts about the game and the energy in the stadium yesterday?
"Yep, I am Ru'Quan's younger brother and I have been to a game at Nebraska before. It was pretty fun and exciting yesterday. I got to take a tour. The players were all hyped and I felt the intensity."
What position or positions has Nebraska talked to you about playing?
"They said defensive line."
What were your thoughts on how the defense and in particular the defensive line played yesterday? Can you see yourself playing for Nebraska?
"The defensive line played very consistent. The defense read everything well and played with intensity. Yes, I can see myself playing at Nebraska. I love their defense a lot."
You’re an interesting recruit with an older brother on the team that plays the same position you are being recruited to play. What has older brother had to tell you about how he likes Nebraska, the defense, the team and coming there with him?
"He loves Nebraska! He talks to me everyday and tells me how he's working hard and that he loves the defense."
What other schools besides Nebraska are you hearing from? Have you picked up any offers?
"No other schools right now have been reaching out yet. I haven't been to too many camps because of Covid so so I really haven't been able to showcase myself but Nebraska is interested but hasn't offered."
How is your season going for you and your team?
"We are 2-1 but we are a good team. I feel we are going to the playoffs. There are just some mistakes we have to clean up, but we are doing pretty good."

Tyson Terry, DE, Omaha North - 6-1.5/260 yesterday at Nebraska
What were your thoughts about the game and the energy in the stadium yesterday?
"Yeah the game was amazing! The fans packed the stadium and the atmosphere was great, with the fans and the players. The tunnel walk is always my favorite. I am hoping I can be in that walk some day!"
Nebraska sees you as a defensive end?
"Correct."
What were your thoughts on how the defense and in particular the defensive line played yesterday? Can you see yourself playing for Nebraska?
"The defensive line played very well. They were physical and relentless. I think I fit very well in the defensive line playing in that 4-3. I can play both DT and DE or whatever Nebraska would like me to play. I can also use my wrestling background in the trenches!"
Have you picked up any scholarship or walk-on offers? Do you think any schools might be close to offering?
"No I have not picked up any offers yet. And I’m not very sure who is close to offering, I’ve talked with Nebraska, Wyoming, and K-State."
