Just saw it for the first time this morning, wtf is that? An awkward little kid running into a shack, the narrator saying Nebraska isn’t for everyone? I honestly thought it was a joke at first

Haven't seen it, OP, much less know who YOU are.

You realize the "creatives" involved are getting paid handsomely for coming up that. Ha, ha.

It should be a quick few clips of....

1. Henry Doorly Zoo
2. Lincoln Haymarket / Omaha Old Market
3. Memorial Stadium for a football game
4. Chimney Rock / SAC Museum
5. Sandhills joy ride
6. I still think most outsiders would enjoy Mahoney State Park and things around it.

All in all, it should be a quick commercial. At least our state didn't shutdown during Covid like some other more popular states did.

Disagree

It should be 45 seconds of quick cuts, arranged thusly:

Inside of PJ on final descent
Walking down jet stairs on Mullen airstrip
Black car pulling into Sandhills
Golf cart pulling up to Ben’s cabin
Drone tee shot off #1
Fade to black

Isn’t this what the tunnel walk video looks/looked like

From a tourism standpoint, Nebraska is just a place that people stop on the way to Colorado or Yellowstone. It should be marketed as such...basically as a place for you to get a warm up to your outdoor activities before you get to the higher elevation in the mountains.

You are so right.

Living in the twin cities, it is amazing how many people here talk about driving through the state to get to Colorado.

Most state tourism ads don't make sense to me. Not many are as bad as Nebraska's creepy kid ad, but Missouri's "you can all me Mo" campaign is almost as bad. Kansas and Iowa tourism ads are also dull AF.

North Dakota and South Dakota at least seem to know how to produce attractive TV ads that emphasize scenery and wide open spaces. If you're going to buy ads in big, crowded population centers, those will at least get some attention.

To be fair there is probably a correlation between attractive TV ads and having something worth visiting.

Scottsbluff and NE Iowa are pretty cool, but probably not worthy of a visit for most. The only other state that might be worse to visit in the Midwest is Kansas.

It's quirky. I like it.
Certainly is that. But this is supposed to be marketing, not quirky.
Like those dumb Superbowl ads where they try so hard to be hip and clever, fail miserably, then even forget to sell the product.

Happy to see this perception still persists.

Yep. N isn't too smart when it comes to selling the state. Pretty dumb to even air shit like that! And I love Lincoln but we do put some dumb commercials out there

So, a prevailing opinion is that there are too MANY people in Nebraska, and tourists should spend their dollars, Euros, and Yen elsewhere?

The weird kid commercial makes more sense now.
