Vin Scully final game today after 67 years

He was the greatest, he did football for CBS during the 80's. I went to high school in Las Vegas and listen to the Dodgers baseball every night. Thanks Vin

Absolutely the best baseball announcer in our lifetimes, in fact I'm watching the Dodgers/Giants game on TV right now with Vin. Baseball is going to miss this icon and I know a lot of people in Los Angeles are going to have some red and swollen eyes in the next hour or so as this game and his career come to an end.

It's an honor listening to him call his final game....wish the Dodgers were winning this though. Too bad they are trash as soon as the calendar switches to October. Sick

...and with that said, the Dodgers finally figured out how to eliminate St. Louis in October.

I'm going to throw in a different opinion.

To me there are 2 things that make a baseball game enjoyable to listen to. One is 2 announcers so that there is some conversation back and forth with different voice tones, and the other is just the right amount of silence. Sully provided neither in the games I heard him. Seemed he always works alone and it was like producers feeding him fact after fact after fact to the point there as never any time to reflect on the game. And his voice is very monotone. To listen to his voice constantly with no break was very difficult for me. I got to the point that if I saw a dodger game coming up on mlb channel if find something else to do.

To me even though I have no white sox aliigence, I like listening to their announcers and will record a game where the white sox play just to listen to those guys.
