Look at how many missed throws he’s made this year as well..for a QB that makes top 5 QB money, he’s pathetic!I am a Viking fan..... Cousins isn't the problem.....
Speilman should have been fired years ago! His drafting and trading ability of offensive lineman and cornerbacks has been terrible! And paying a QB who has sucked and never proven anything other than he sucks, millions to run the offense, just says sabotage! Speilman is an F’n loser!on a TD pass as time expired. Spielman and Zimmer need to be fired tonight.
The thing is, IF you demand and GET the kind of contract he got, you damned well had better be able to close out game with Ws regardless of what your defense does. He doesn't. With huge contracts come huge expectations.I am a Viking fan..... Cousins isn't the problem.....
Kirk cousins has a .496 career winning percentage and has made millions. It's time for a cheaper option. He'll never win anything of significance, here or anywhere else. He throws a nice ball, but so did Jeff GeorgeI am a Viking fan..... Cousins isn't the problem..
He’s won several games at the end this year alone. Not to mention putting them in chip shot range to beat Arizona. The thing is, IF you demand and GET the kind of contract he got, you damned well had better be able to close out game with Ws regardless of what your defense does. His contract is still a killer for the team. Rodgers bitched about the Pack not signing some guys he wanted but still wanted more money. The only way you can win it all is to have a guy like Brady willing to forego some money OR have other key guys willing to play for peanuts to win a ring. Maybe you get close by getting a QB on a rookie deal who gets hot which allows you to sigh stars elsewhere. When you commit the kind of money to a QB that the Vikes committed to Cousins, it really puts your tits in the wringer with the rest of your roster. The only reason the Vikings have been as competitive as they've been is how lucky they got with Thielen and now Jefferson. They should have never resigned Dalvin (always injured)Cook. This should be Spielman's last year. He’s won several games at the end this year alone. Not to mention putting them in chip shot range to beat Arizona.
He goes through phases of being too conservative and checking down too much, but as another poster mentioned it’s because Zimmer forces the offense to be too conservative so his defense can win it… which only works when the defense is good.
When Kirk is unleashed he’s pretty darn good.

Nope. There would’ve been a minute left, not 20 seconds. Way too much time to give any offense only needing a FG to win. When the Vikings threw their last TD pass with under two minutes to go (and down 2 points) I thought that was a mistake. They were inside the 5 yard line. They could have taken a knee 3 times, burned the Lions last timeout and taken the clock all the way down to maybe 20 seconds and then kick a chip shot field goal. Basically, the same as the old fashioned extra point. That would have been far better for the Vikings instead of giving the Lions the ball back with nearly 2 minutes to go and needing a TD.
I thought that TD pass was on 1st down. Was it 2nd down? Because if it was 1st down, Vikings take a knee and Lions take their last timeout. Then take a knee twice more, burn off 40 seconds each time. That would take it down to 30 second minus whatever time it takes to run the actual plays and kick the field goal.Nope. There would’ve been a minute left, not 20 seconds. It was 3rd down. On 1st down they ran with Mattison to bring it to two minute warning. On 2nd down they ran with Mattison again. Lions took their final timeout with 1:54.I thought that TD pass was on 1st down. Was it 2nd down? Because if it was 1st down, Vikings take a knee and Lions take their last timeout.
