I had the chance to visit with Jill Foltz, Sam Foltz's mother tonight at the Fan Day after they honored him on the big screen. Jill Foltz told me it's been amazing the amount of letters, calls and messages the family has received the last 10 days.
However, maybe the most touching phone call she received came from Jan Berringer, the mother of late Husker quarterback Brook Berringer.
"I saw Goodland, Kansas pop up on the caller ID, and I knew right who it was," Jill Foltz told me.
Jill Foltz said Jan Berringer wanted to let her know that "she knows what she's going through right now" and that she will "always be there for her" if she wanted to talk.
