I assume this includes conference TV revenue for schools except those like Nebraska that aren't receiving a full share yet?

Iowa loses 3 million? Do they have a much larger athletic department?

6 are $EC and 4 are B1G. Wow, seems to me that the B1G should be doing more with its schools being able to self fund at that high of a percentage.

So we are only in the positive by 4 million? Hopefully that amount goes up once we get full B1G share.

This is misleading. Many athletic departments use transfer-price accounting to make it look like they are not making huge profits off of student-athletes. This is a pretty good article about it:

Wow, thanks for that link. It links to a great article about UNO (http://espn.go.com/espn/otl/news/story?id=6488960). Shouldn't surprise me as much as it does, but UNO used these same scams to justify getting rid of wrestling and football. Despicable. As public institutions (not counting private universities), public statements regarding money at the school need to be accurate so the school is accountable to the taxpayers and students funding it. This site: http://sportsgeekonomics. tumblr .com/post/45761374835/making-riches-look-like-rags is also linked and interesting, but I can't get it to link right so pardon the spaces around Tumblr.

I didn't think I could get more disappointed with Trev, but sure enough he proved himself again.

(UNO alum who spent some of his time at UNL).

On topic, hoping UNLs numbers are more accurate. Really hope they don't use these accounting techniques. Since they're reporting a profit, guessing it doesn't matter as much?

Actually Michigan doesn't take any subsidy money or other school funds either but they do have to charge the University a nominal amount (per state law) to rent athletic facilities for events such as meetings, conferences, graduations, etc., so that is why they don't show on this list. Further, the Michigan Athletic Department pays tuition and room and board to the University for every scholarship athlete.
