From Husker Weather Man over on the HuskerMax message board. Dude is usually spot-on.

Miami and surrounding coastal regions in South Florida are all under Flood Watches (occasionally warnings) today. Off and on bands of heavy rain and thunderstorms moving through the region. This will be the case both today and Friday.

But as mentioned, the trend with the rain and thunderstorms is in the lesser direction on Saturday. That doesn't mean the rain chances are done -- but the heavier, steadier bands and flash flooding likely will be. Showers will be of the scattered variety, mostly short-lived, and more opportunities for sunshine.

Those who arrived in Miami over the past 24 hours would likely mention the beach/golf weather has been less than ideal. Saturday will be an improvement over Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Will be interesting to see how much the field is able to dry out prior to kickoff Saturday.

Pregame (Saturday AM/early PM): Temperatures generally in the 80s in the morning, warming to near 90° early-afternoon. Slight chance of a scattered shower.

Kickoff (2:30PM CDT/3:30PM EDT): 89-90°. Mostly cloudy. Slight chance of a scattered shower. Wind Southwest at 10-15mph.

Halftime: 88°. Mostly cloudy. Slight chance of a scattered shower. Wind Southwest 9-14mph.

4th Quarter: 84-86°. Mostly cloudy. Slight chance of a scattered shower. Wind Southwest 4-9mph.

Postgame (Saturday night): Very slight chance of a scattered shower (most likely dry). Temperatures in the lower 80s.

I know the humidity in South Florida is stifling, and it will certainly be hot. But I would rather take those conditions over Lincoln on Sept 7th when it was a 105 heat index and no clouds.

Thats every day in florida. The rain is going north right now so the "flood watch" is worthless unless just settles over miami tomorrow. Probably be a beautiful weekend.
