I admit I haven't read every post on here today (thank God), but the level of negativity on here really is unbelievable, particularly when it comes to this recruiting class. I don't know what folks expected, but I DO KNOW what we have (so far).
- the #1 player in Nebraska, who is as good an athlete as anyone in the country - yes, I will stand by that statement. Check out his track accomplishments - if this kid was from Georgia or anywhere else, people would be going nuts over him
- one of the best run/pass QB's IN THE COUNTRY - at least if you believe in the recruiting services who assign such stuff
- one of the top ranked JUCO RB in the country, who turned down SEC schools and is a two-time JUCO All American
- the #2 ranked JUCO DB (could play safety or corner) in the country - offers to Florida and other SEC schools (Georgia and Florida out of high school)
- a 4 star DE from the 500 mile radius - our fans tend to tune out kids like this - crazy
- one of the top ranked kickers in the class (cue those who laugh at these commitments)
- the best walk on group in a long time (cue those who make fun of walk-ons)
- much more than this, but no need to go player by player.
However, if you JUST look at the above, it's at least a "good" class. Folks are also forgetting how important the month of January will be to programs like NU who will have a chance to bring in players who either decommitted recently or were just waiting for the right fit until they felt more comfortable with a commitment.
Like any class, if half of the kids make a positive impact moving forward, it's a good class. I like what SF and company are doing - and I like the fact that I feel like we're starting to recruit what I believe will be impact JUCO kids again.
