UCLA Officially Cleared to Join B1G

Not that there seemed to be much doubt but there was some noise that UCLA might have been prevented from leaving the PAC. But the California regents officially gave the OK to the move. They did recommend UCLA pay some financial compensation upon leaving but that appears to be a voluntary contribution and not mandatory.

"The (UCLA) President will return to the Regents at a future meeting, after Pac-12 media agreements are finalized, with a recommendation for a contribution by UCLA to the Berkeley campus in the range of $2 million to $5 million, to be used to enhance studentathlete support at that campus. Such recommendation will be based on the best available information on projected revenues for both campuses."

On a UCLA board they are saying this could be an annual thing for up to $10M

and thats 10 million a year that won't be used against Nebraska..

Welcome Bruins, although I'm not the biggest fan of this move.

I hope we don't play many games out there with a 7:30pm PT start. That would make halftime past my usual bedtime. 😐
