Anyone have any insight as to whether or not Riley would be interested in trying to talk Mr. Knight into becoming a Husker for his final season? Seems like a massive upgrade and a nice bridge until POB is ready. Quick Google scan doesn't indicate NU is even on his radar though :(

would love someone like this .. but realistically any QB looking to transfer is going to see a 3 year starter coming back at Nebraska
as long as TA is on the roster our chances of getting one of these transfers is almost zero
2017 season is where this scenario might come into play for Neb

realistically I think TA is going to be the guy next year unless POB or one of the other QBs surprise

I cannot imagine to many good QB's being scared of Tommy. But I get your point.

2014 Knight stats: 56.6% completion percentage, 7.3 yd/attempt, 14 TD/12 Int; QB rating: 124.8
2015 Armstrong stats: 54.8%, 7.5 yd/att, 21 TD/16 Int; QB rating: 127.2

So, you're thinking Knight would just assume that he could come in and take the job away from a senior who has been a starter for 3 years, and is entering his 2nd year of this offense? Well, Knight hasn't exactly been known for his decision making, so anything is possible.

No...no...and a 1000 times no. He has had one great game in his whole career and that is when OU smoked Alabama. Other than that he has been fair to middlin (and that's being generous).

Honestly, I know next to nothing about the kid, I just read the ESPN scroll that said he was the starting QB when OU upset 'Bama. Outside of that, IDK anything about him.

Yeah, I'm going to go ahead and be a jerk.
It doesn't surprise me that you, one of Armstrong's biggest critics, isn't familiar with the shaky performance of QBs at other major schools. You argued that Armstrong wasn't a legitimate Div 1 QB, right? Well, Knight is certainly no better Armstrong. He had comparable stats with better talent around him in a pass friendly conference. Do you want to take any bets on whether any Div 1 teams will take a flyer on him, even though he only has one year to play for them? Word has it that K-State is going after him. Snyder is no dummy.

I understand that Armstrong has issues, but so do many other college quarterbacks.

Well I guess TA is a legit D1 QB now that it's been proven Knight isn't any better. Thanks for clearing that up.

If you are truly being serious about not knowing anything about the kid, then why in God's green earth would you start a thread on it!!!!!! Some times the s@#t that is said on typed on this board is freakin amazing.

May be a better way to go about it is to say. "Hey what is the deal with this Knight kid. I don't jack about him, does anyone have any insight."

I could not possibly care less what somebody thinks of me for asking about Knight. Fact is, if we don't find a better QB before next year, say hello to 5-7 again, I'd rather not go through that again. Now if you guys giving me a hard time over this post are OK with that record and watching the human turnover leading us again, then we have different hopes for our football team. Many of posters have started threads asking about all kinds of QB's, everything from JC guys, to other highly touted high school guys, to D1 transfers, etc. Did you guys give them crap for that, or is that reserved for just me? Don't bother answering, I already know. You didn't.

Here are the facts: Unless Tommy Armstrong left the team or was injured, a senior transfer is not happening. Those kinds of tranfers occur when a team had a QB graduate and basically needs a new guy to come in for a year. While many on here like to bash Tommy (and yet wonder why he says "us against the world") he is our guy next year. So we better hope Riley/Langs work some magic between now and next fall. He has the skill set to be successful. If they can work on his decision making and footwork, he could have a special senior season.

Well, yeah, if Bill Snyder is going to pursue a QB that has equivalent or worse performance to TA, it does pretty much prove that that Armstrong is a legit D1 QB. I don't know if you were attempting sarcasm, but sarcasm is tough when what you are saying is logical.

I would probably take the senior transfer from Cal, forget his name, over Trevor Knight. I'll leave it up to the coaches but they need somebody to come in and compete next year I think. But what do I know?

Trevor Knight would not help your team at the QB position. He seems like a great kid, but he's not a very good QB at all. Trevor is very inaccurate. I appreciate everything he has done at OU, but there is no way I want to see him doing anything more than mop up duty. In my opinion Armstrong is better than Knight.

can they put a streaming go pro on armstrong's head, then maybe some google glasses, and have joe montana or terry bradshaw point out where he should throw and not throw during a game?
