Transfer kicker N

I still have reservations about Foley leading this group. 1 guy performing below expectations is one thing, but lack of measurable success throughout, including the return specialists , is a possible concern.
Nebraska hasn't had solid special teams in a bit. I don't place it solely on Foley. The return game last season was by design, in my opinion. I think that Rhule was being conservative, especially in the punt game, make sure the the ball was secure and not put the defense in a bad spot with a turnover on your side of the field.

God knows we gave it away too many times on offense.😰

I think the increased athletism will start to show up on special teams. Plus, Koch should awesome, and Barney is electric.

I agree on the punt return. The kickers were inconsistent and you can criticize Foley for that But we blocked punts blocked field goals ran fakes out of both Foley is also responsible for calling all that all n all it was our best special teams in years.hopefully the kicking game becomes mor consistent. So let’s see how year two sakes out. .

maybe

if so, it was another design abandoned during the final month free fall

What does that rating mean? Is it equivalent to a 5* from the other recruiting services for the other positions?
It doesn't mean a whole lot in the overall scheme. We had a punter at our HS that went to this dude's camps and was rated 5* and walked on at Texas Tech. Then left after 2 seasons having never punted and is now at Arkansas State.

Honestly, this makes me just as happy, if not happier, than a lot of the other commits NU has gotten recently.

This was a major position of need and should help improve special teams. Which is obviously super important.

Love this pickup on so many levels. We have last years starter in Alvano. Was Rhule satisfied? No. Brings in a walk-on who I believe was possibly the best fg kicker in NJ. But does he stop there? No.

Recruiting over, or at least trying to recruit over, players currently on our roster is critical to getting out of this funk. I think too many former coaches were content with what they had.

Yep, John Cook has been doing this successfully for years. "Recruit X is coming to take your job, how are you gonna respond?"
