Rather than post this next week in the chat (which I am already thinking about), I had a serious question about what people thought his future was and I know it's crazy to speculate but he's so impressive that I can't imagine others not making insane offers to him.
This year, he's making $400K, which I believe is a massive jump in salary from $215K that he previously made. We all know he's worth every penny of that.
Next year, his salary increases to $425K.
At some point between now and then, won't other coaches realize what an elite recruiter he is and offer him even more money. What about the next step in his career as in a DC. If we're talking Diaco money, that's just under $900K.
Sure, Nebraska would properly bump him yet again to keep him but at some point, won't a Michigan or Alabama or USC throw a lot of money at him that maybe we can't/won't match?
Yes, I hope we pay him $550K to keep him.
