Top five Nebraska high school prospects 2008-2013: Where Are They Now?

Got bored while babysitting a couple of greyhounds tonight, and decided to put this together.

Took the top-five Nebraska high school recruits from each of the 2008 through 2013 recruiting classes.

2nd-team All-Big Ten in 2012

1.) Baker Steinkuhler, Nebraska; 5-stars, 6.1 RR, #8 on the Rivals 100, 2nd-best offensive tackle in the 2008 recruiting class;
Was moved to defensive tackle by Pelini's staff and was a three-year starter for the Huskers; Second-team All-Big Ten in 2012, honorable-mention All-Big Ten in 2011, and honorable-mention All-Big 12 in 2010; Many believe that Pelini shortchanged Steinkuhler's professional future by moving him away from the offensive line, though.

Three-year starter for Notre Dame

2.) Trevor Robinson, Notre Dame; 4-stars, 6.0 RR, #37 on the Rivals 100, #1-overall offensive guard in the 2008 recruiting class;
Three-year starter at guard for Notre Dame; Currently a backup center with the San Diego Chargers, after being undrafted in the 2012 NFL Draft.

3.) Sean Fisher, Nebraska; 3-stars, 5.7 RR, 41st-best outside LB in the 2008 recruiting class; Started 15 games at linebacker in his career for the Huskers; Career was somewhat hampered by a broken leg in 2010.

4.) Collins Okafor, Nebraska; 3-stars, 5.7 RR, 27th-best running back in the 2008 recruiting class; Appeared in two games over three seasons for the Huskers, and had two carries in his career.

Three-year starter at tight end for the Jayhawks

5.) Tim Biere, Kansas; 3-stars, 5.7 RR, 19th-best tight end in the 2008 recruiting class;
A three-year starter for KU at TE and finished his college career with 66 catches for 798 yards and six touchdowns.

1.) Tyrone Sellers, Kansas; 3-stars, 5.7 RR, 30th-best weakside DE in the 2009 recruiting class; Played sparingly at DE over three seasons at KU and transferred to UN-Kearney after Charlie Weis took over at KU.

Jon Lechner was a 4-year starter for Frank Solich's Bobcats

2.) Jon Lechner, Ohio; 3-stars, 5.7 RR, 31st-best offensive tackle in the 2009 recruiting class;
Four-year starter at offensive tackle for Frank Solich's Bobcats, and was named 2nd-team All-MAC.

3.) Vondrae Tostenson, Iowa Western Community College; 3-stars, 5.6 RR, 85th-best WR in the 2009 recruiting class; Ended up at Iowa Western but never played a down of football.

4.) C.J. Zimmerer, Nebraska; 3-stars, 5.5 RR, 18th-best fullback in the 2009 recruiting class; Appeared in 41 games with 7 starts at fullback for the Huskers.

5.) Cole Pensick, Nebraska; 3-stars, 5.5 RR, 80th-best defensive tackle in the 2009 recruiting class; Made 14 starts in his career at Nebraska, primarily at center, and was named 2nd-team All-Big Ten in 2013.

Started 16 games in his Husker career

1.) Andrew Rodriguez, Nebraska; 4-stars, 5.8 RR, #183 on the Rivals 250, 24th-best offensive tackle in the 2010 recruiting class;
Started 16 games over his career at NU, and was named honorable-mention All-Big Ten in 2013.

2.) Tyler Evans, Nebraska; 2-stars, 5.4 RR; Appeared in nine games and had 2 receptions in his career at NU.

3.) Bryce Dietz, Ohio; 2-stars, 5.3 RR; Spent 3 years as a reserve offensive lineman for Frank Solich.

4.) Jake Cotton, Nebraska; 2-stars, 5.3 RR;
Two-year starter at left guard for the Huskers.

Transferred to UNK, where he is the Lopers' starting QB

5.) Bronson Marsh, Nebraska; 2-stars, 5.3 RR;
Has spent the past two years as the starting QB for UN-Kearney; Appeared in two games as a reserve for NU.

NU's starting right tackle in 2014

1.) Zach Sterup, Nebraska; 4-stars, 5.8 RR, 26th-best offensive tackle in the 2011 recruiting class;
Started 10 games at right tackle for the Huskers in 2014, and was a reserve the previous two seasons.

2.) Ryne Reeves, Nebraska; 4-stars, 5.8 RR, 4th-best center in the 2011 recruiting class; For reasons that no one but Bo Pelini could explain or understand, Reeves was the Huskers' 2nd-string center behind Mark Pelini in 2014; Was a reserve guard the previous two seasons.

3.) Daniel Davie, Nebraska; 3-stars, 5.5 RR;
Starter at cornerback for the Huskers in 2014, and was a reserve CB and special teams player the previous two years.

4.) Teddy Lampkin, Iowa State; 3-stars, 5.5 RR; Spent a redshirt season at Iowa State and then transferred to Nebraska, where he is on NU's track & field team.

5.) Cole Fisher, Iowa; 3-stars, 5.5 RR; Second-string weakside LB for the Hawkeyes in 2014, and was a seldom-used reserve the previous two seasons.

Should be SEMO's starting QB in 2015

1.) Tay Bender, Kansas State; 3-stars, 5.6 RR, 20th-best dual-threat QB in the 2012 recruiting class;
Is now at FCS Southeast Missouri State, where he is the favorite to start at QB for the Redhawks in 2015; Spent 2012 at K-State and then transferred to Iowa Western CC.

Drew Ott is a two-year starter for Kirk Ferentz

2.) Drew Ott, Iowa; 3-stars, 5.5 RR;
Two-year starter at defensive end for the Hawkeyes, and was 2nd-team All-Big Ten in 2014; Was sixth in the Big Ten in sacks (7.5) in 2014.

3.) Sam Cotton, Nebraska; 3-stars, 5.5 RR; Has started four games over the past two seasons, where his father was the TE's coach; Has six receptions in his career.

Starting OT for the Jackrabbits

4.) Mike Shoff, South Dakota State; 3-stars, 5.5 RR;
Starting offensive tackle for the Jackrabbits in 2013 and missed the entire 2014 season due to injury.

5.) Jake Schany, Ohio; 3-stars, 5.5 RR; No longer in football due to persistent shoulder injuries; Appeared in one game for the Bobcats in 2013.

Was considering a transfer until Mike Riley arrived

1.) Josh Banderas, Nebraska; 4-stars, 5.8 RR, #182 on the Rivals 250, 14th-best outside LB in the 2013 recruiting class;
Has started 10 games over the last two seasons for the Huskers, and had 50 tackles in 2014; Stated that he was considering transferring due to Pelini and his staff, but looks to be a key component of Mike Riley's defense in 2015.

Yet another Pelini recruiting failure

2.) Christian Lacouture, Louisiana State; 3-stars, 5.7 RR, 18th-best strongside DE in the 2013 recruiting class;
Started all 13 games at defensive tackle for LSU in 2014, finishing with 40 tackles, 4.0 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks; Was committed to Nebraska and his family actually moved to Lincoln for his senior season, but somehow Pelini botched his recruitment, leading him to Baton Rouge.

3.) Nathan Bazata, Iowa; 3-star, 5.5 RR; Is penciled in as one of Iowa's starting defensive tackles for the 2015 season; Was 3rd-string DT for Iowa as a redshirt freshman in 2014.

Casey Sayles (#44) started six games at DE in 2014

4.) Casey Sayles, Ohio; 2-star, 5.4 RR;
Started six games at defensive end for Frank Solich in 2014; As a true freshman, Sayles had 32 tackles and 3.5 sacks for the Bobcats.

5.) Jake Schlager, Colorado State; 2-star, 5.3 RR; Has played in 18 games over the past two years as a reserve safety and special teams player for the Rams.
