Obviously seeing Frosts name pop up. Wondering if you could pick anyone (with in reason, saban is not coming here) who would it be?

Also, I think it's against the law to make a prospective coach list without Gruden.on it. And you have to include the phrase "throw money at" in front of his name.
It did cross my mind. lol

I would still take Bielema right now if he wanted to come here. And he would win the West with regularity as our head coach. Yeah, he's surly at times, but the guy can coach.

I'm not as sold on BB as I used to be. He won at Wisconsin, but so did Anderson and Cryst, who were both pretty average coaches elsewhere. And now he is laying an egg at Arkansas.

Her would win, and win often in the West.

I dont know how anyone could pick frost over a proven head coach that took over a dumpster fire in oklahoma and his recruiting ties to texas... he would turn it around fast.. but to each his own.. i would pick Scott 2nd

Plus you get his boy Deuce Gruden for strength coach - dude's guns are WAY bigger than Ed Hochuli - talk about JACKED!!

Sure, Stoops would be a home run hire. But we have about the same chance of luring him here as we do with Saban or Meyer. (ZERO)

He shouldn't even be on the list.

Frost is first pick, but is more of an emotial pick vs a prove coach pick. 2nd pick would be Stoops. Although he is probably a long shot option.

As of right now, I would take Frost or Campbell.
I keep seeing this, not saying the guy is a bad coach, but what has Campbell done? what has he won? yes he has competed and beat OU and TCU but aside from that, his record is not fantastic...it could be bur right now he is waaaaay too unknown

will admit the 13% vote for Riley is a bit surprising. Did realize we had so many masochists in huskerland. lol

He did a good job for 4 seasons at toledo, before turning around Iowa State. Much less of an unknown than Frost, IMO.

he did okay at toledo a 9 win coach with a 7 win season at toledo, how is ISU turned around? They beat a couple overrated team and played the spoiler so far but how are they turned around? 3-9 last year, yea they are 6-2 right now but as he sits currently what on his resume is better looking than SF? or any other possible coach out there. He has made a couple splashes beating OU and TCU aside from that what has he done?

Chip Kelly would be my #1 choice, Frost 2nd. Both know how to score points but Chip's P5 experience and his 46-7 record at Oregon makes me feel more confident in him succeeding fairly quickly. Plus I think his name would help recruit at a high level as soon as he got here.

Frost has some advantages too, obviously. So I'd be thrilled with either one.

How has he turned ISU around? He inherited a team that had won 3,2,3 games the last three years and had averaged 4 wins a year for the past decade, a team that has recruited in the 60's the past decade.. And has them ranked #14 in the nation in his second year, with wins over two Top 5 teams. The guy can flat out coach.

Lets go down the what if road as well. Lets say we bring Frost in and he doesn't cut it. Then what? Does he get more of a pass because he has husker ties? Does he maybe get 6-8 years? If we don't find success in another 6-8 years, I don't see us finding success again?
Side questions what is the longest a ncaa football team has went inbetween conference and or National Championships?

Like i said, i am not saying he isnt a good coach, i am just saying what has he actually done. Right now he is on track to be on the short list, but as i type this i cannot see putting him ahead of much of anybody, aside from putting ahead of Mike Riley...

Scott's going to get a very long leash "cuz Riley cratered the program" and because Scott is the very last hope for whatever remains of The Nebraska Way (trademark pending).

If Scott craters, its back to reinventing the program with no ties to the past. The state might literally implode.

Yah, but other than that what has he done? ;)
