We will have a few bigger bodies than Syracuse did last year but also a little less athletic. Minnesota lost some good OL and Ibrahim at RB. They did pick up a few solid non p5 transfers and should have more big play and passing ability this season.

MN beat Syracuse 28-20 but I watched most of the game and probably outplayed them but didn't do what was needed in crucial times (sounds familiar).

This should be a good football game.

Personally I don't think Nebraska fans consider Minnesota to be a rival. There's probably more motivation on the Minnesota side to beat Nebraska but it's not at rival level. Minnesota considers Wisconsin and Iowa to be rivals more than they do Nebraska IMO.

this was a part of the new conference alignment for 2024 - where they put in protected rival recommendations to play every year. Trev put in IA, WI and MN - only Iowa put us in.

our rivalry with CU goes back to when we both were regulars in the top 5 and their fans were slashing our tires and throwing piss-filled balloons at us in Folsom Field.

We are returning a lot of starters on offense and defense while MN has had a lot of turnover this year. We have a new QB and receivers who have to sync up, but so does MN. They have to find some new linemen and a new running back. It actually might be better for us we get them first game.
