To be clear, Wisconsin is cleared to play by BIG rule

As of last night, the suspensions carry over to the next contest. Whenever it is.

Hopefully NW doesn't get a key player injured and back out of the game.
Don't be surprised if it happens again this year, especially if they change the 21 day rule.

B10 ADs agreed individual schools can decide to not play on their own. it was unanimous
it was also agreed to call those no contests
the neb AD agreed to all this

Post the wording of the B1G guidelines. I don't think it says what you think.

No doubt Wisconsin put the language in about any team being able to opt out just for the reason we're seeing right now. Alvarez is a dick.
Yep. Generally speaking, teams want to play football games.

There were several teams that did not want to play this season, however, which is why it took 283 years to put a framework back together to play.

Wisconsin was one of those teams.

Why we would agree to language allowing a team that didn't want to play in the first place the prerogative of picking and choosing which games they want to play throughout the season is beyond me.

That exception is going to be very, very interesting the last 2 weeks of the season if a team in the BIG is in line for the CCG but has a difficult game coming up.

They'll have to balance out whether they're better off going , say 5-2 to finish the season and just sitting the game out -- or risk a loss taking them to 5-3 which might knock them out of title contention.

They can go undefeated by opting out of the 11/14 game with Michigan as well.

Their schedule would then consist of Illinois, Purdue, Northwestern, Minnesota, Indiana, and Iowa.

Bet Alvarez is kicking himself for that Indiana crossover when Maryland was available.

Here's what it says:
Game Cancellation Policy

The Big Ten will make decisions about the continuation of practice and competition as determined by Test Positivity Rate and Population Positivity Rate. Full details on these metrics can be found here.

In the instance a game cannot be played as scheduled due to both a Test Positivity Rate greater than 5% and a Population Positivity Rate greater than 7.5% for one or both teams, the game shall be cancelled and declared a No Contest and will not count as a win or loss for either team.

This is talking about the conference cancelling a game because of a RED/RED situation. There is no mention of a school choosing to cancel a game because of a ORANGE/ORANGE or ORANGE/RED situation. That should be a forfeit.
