Can't dwell on the negatives. Here's the positives I saw:
  • Banderas did pretty well yesterday, and is starting to show his leadership at that position
  • Gerry is a special player, and takes it upon himself to lead the secondary. He can't do it all himself, but they have someone to rally around
  • Maleik Collins can be disruptive if they let him loose. He was taking on double teams and was getting a push
  • Wilbon is shifty and could be a feature back if he can get some holes from his line and some dedication to the run game from the staff
  • Tommy to Westercatch is a special relationship. They always seem to be on the same page and Tommy looks to him (sometimes to his detriment) to bail him out of tight spots. TA has gotten better since last year.
The one thing I'm hoping we'll see with an experienced coaching staff that was missing with the last set is progression and improvement throughout the year. We have holes in the game, but I still think there is hope for a "dreaded" 9-win season if we can improve on the problems we have and highlight our strengths.
