Time put the angst to rest Husker Nation!

1. We got our guy!

2. It's going to be fun to watch actual DEVELOPMENT!

With a full year to showcase Nebraska I believe Scott Frost will have an even better class next year. These guys chose Nebraska! GO BIG RED!!!

What if next year we go 4-8 again?

I won't be surprised, and I also won't be upset. The schedule is a monster and we're changing our entire program. The gift that Mike Riley gave us of a 4-8 record allows Frost to install his own offense without nearly the scrutiny that Riley was under coming off of Pelini's 9 win season.

Yes but how will it go over with potential recruits?

Honestly, this program seems a bit dead right now. There really isn't much excitement beyond the new head coach that most of these kids know nothing about.

Just hiring Frost isn't going to get us very far for very long. This team, in the next year or two needs to create the buzz and "fun factor" and things will progress from there. When you get energy in a program going, it permeates all through every aspect of it. Frankly, even though some are excited on here about Frost as the HC, that is about as far as it goes. No one has a clue what things will look like on the field. Some success and guys working hard, seeing results and having fun will change a lot of this negative stuff.

Patience grass hopper

We have a very difficult schedule next year. Scott will not be destroyed by a 4-8 record next year. We have changes to make and I can't wait. As Fans, we have a role to play too. Support the team and coaches and stay in our seats at the games until the game is over!
The road schedule is brutal next year, but the home schedule has six very winnable games, plus a could-be-winnable matchup with Michigan State. Not going to go "fire somebody" crazy regardless of the Huskers' record next year, but 4-8 would be disappointing.

This is my prediction for next year ( 7-5). I'm not sure on Colorado, but will say a win because it's in Lincoln.

If Frost goes 4-8 next year, then sorry, but he ain’t the dude. Jesus I remember reading some of the morons on here babbling about how great Riley was doing despite his 5-7 record in his first year and it was embarrassing. Most have gone Sybil and convinced others on here that they weren’t the true fans and that the Riley super fans knew everything, but just supported the program and coach no matter what, even though they’d post anti-Pelini nonsense constantly when he was the coach. Toxins and a bunch of other BS.

Winners win...and Frost will.

No; we will go 9-3 next year with losses to Michigan, OSU and Wisconsin.

I'll also go with 7-5 but with losses at Michigan, Wisconsin, NW, OSU and Iowa. We'll take down MSU at home. I see at least 10 wins and West title in 2019.

Someone tell me what magic dust Frost will use next year. New O and D. Completely new systems. New QB to lead a new One. Who really knows how good our D can be. Sure didn't learn anything from this year. There certainly are more questions than answers. We have no way of knowing how the B1G will handle our O or Chin will adapt to the rugged league. Even if we had great athletes at ever turn, they still have to bring it together. You have Troy on the schedule who beat Auburn this year. Colorado is improved as of late. Tell me which B1G team will be worse next year?

Then again, maybe the talent is there and there is enough time to at least be competitive. I just wonder if the jump to this league for this coaching staff could present it's own challenge. Lots of growing pains ahead.

I'm not saying he's going to work miracles the first year, I just don't think the schedule is all that daunting if you're talking about getting to 7 or 8 wins. It's an absolutely killer path to 10 or 11 wins and a conference championship, and I don't think that's realistic at all. But there are a lot winnable games on the schedule, and especially on the home schedule.

As for Colorado, they graduate the RB that carried their offense the past two years, and their best receiver. And their best DB has announced he's leaving early for the draft. Buffs won't be horrible, but they'll be very beatable in Lincoln.

The defense, as I see it, has a very likely chance to improve. I know Chinander didn't have a top 15 scoring defence, but it was better than ours.

Scott will begin a transition to physical and fast football on the offense. A lot of zone read means your lines have to be prepared to run the dang ball every play even if they don't.

I CANNOT WAIT TO SEE THIS TEAM LIGHT IT UP!

Damn fine post sir.

For the last three years we've heard truly endless excuses from the 500,000 MR apologists. He was so amazingly inept even Callahan lasted longer. Two losing season in three years says it all.

Hiring a Beaver HC who never won "anything" in cfb despite being 60 years old should have been an extremely obvious hint. Buh bye SE. Don't call us. We'll call you. You & Pedeyshine were really something.

But NU now has a real-deal HC. We won't look like a pathetic Beaver fluff-ball team anymore at all. Get ready for some fun.

Bunch of people have a loser's mentality right now. 9-3 is most likely. Frost isn't going for a slow rebuild. He's recruiting juco's who can play right away and Frost wants to win now.

I agree it would be disappointing to go 4-8 this next season. And I do believe we will win the games next year that we are supposed to. I like that Frost feel there is talent on the existing team to build from.

And I really think the kids are really going to enjoy the offense and defense that Nebraska will be running, and if they are having fun, they will perform better.

Really looking forward to spring ball.

I'll take it. And if we finish here, Scott Frost will be the National Coach of the Year again with half of the National Coach of the Year Awards given out next year!

If we go 9-3 next year, look out for 2019 cuz it'll be special! Probably more like 7 wins.

I got us 6-6 with a slight chance of 5-7

I see us looking good for the next couple years but the real test will be in year 3-4. We have a ton of young kids that will be gone by 3-4, and if you fill a class with jucos in this class they will also be gone. Our depth will take a major hit due to this class being so small in terms of HS recruits. Michigan experienced it last year, and were jumping down Harbaughs throat. Will our fan base relax enough to realize that most coaches have a success bump in year 1-2, but struggle in 3-4 due to poor recruiting classes of that they inherited or barely had time to recruit. Saban lost 6 games in year 1 and 3 games in year 4. So our start could be bumpy but not get much better until he has a full class of HS kids, and they can develop.
