What are people's thoughts on Tim for AD. He is definitely familiar with the University. He has been he as an associate AD. Totally has a grasp of football while spending time at T A&M and Arizona State as an Associate AD.

Wasn't Cassidy around during Tom and Frank's tenures? Good guy as I recall.
Cassidy came aboard with Callahan (2004) and left when he did (2007). Was at Texas A&M prior to Lincoln and returned after he left Lincoln. Took the ASU job around 2012.

I like this thought. Football focused. What were the circumstances of his hiring and leaving?

Did his coming and going coincide with Callahan?

It did.

I did fail to mention that he is from Omaha, and did graduate from UNO with his Bachelors before going to aTm for his Masters. He spent at least at aTm though. So I would bet he is hoping that he gets that AD job at some point in the future.

Compared to....?

I agree, most fans have no idea what kind of job these guys do in there positions. The problem as I see it is that people like Lee B and other writers, throw out their "dream" candidates, people take that as these people are actual candidates and that they have some sort of interest in the position. Then are completely disappointed when that person isn't hired. The reality is some of those guys may not have one iota of interest in the position. It creates some sort of false expectation and then the guy who is hired is already second rate. It happens everywhere.

IMO
Choice #1 Chris Del Conte - TCU
Choice #2 Greg Byrne - Alabama... Son of Bill Byrne, Long shot I know he'd be #1 if I felt our chances were better
Choice #3 Eric Hyman - Currently no where

why? He signed Sumlin to a 6 year $30 million guaranteed contract, then was fired, then threw everyone under the bus and said he had nothing to do with the deal.
Because I believe him, and he is responsible for Patterson at TCU and Spurrier at South Carolina

I agree his version of the story has plausibility, but I think the truth falls somewhere in the middle. He is also nearly 70 years old, hated Texas A&M because the 12th man club and the boosters ran the show. Sound familiar? The do it the Nebraska way or else won't fly with him. From what I know of him he wants to run the show, and doesn't want any outside interference. Not a fit.

I can agree with that, although I don't want Cassidy
