1. Our defense looks average at best
2. Ryker might be a great guy but he is a scared rabbit back there
3. If Gerry is allowed to come to the football banquet, I'll be incredibly disappointed

Forget that... Our defense is awful ... Could we play farther off the receivers???

1. It's depressing to see how far removed we are from even being fundamentally sound. How did we win 9 games??
2. Feel bad for the fans who actually traveled to this game.
3. A very good chance that we get shut out today.

This is a bad match-up - QB that can run - lots of speed on offense and a tough Dline. All those add up to a bad day for Nebraska.

Pelini's cancers hopefully gone... We can't make a big play on defense.... I promised I would not get upset but it tools us 24 minutes to try something different on offense and THEN they go 80 in 1.5 minutes? We stink

Riley needs to be held accountable. Can't keep blaming Pelini. Not a Pelini fan,but this Joker is as bad or worse

There is a LOT of blame to pass around here... First of all, I know this sounds trivial, but RIP THOSE RED SLEEVES OFF RYKER... You are a FOOTBALL player.. It is not cold....
Second of all... Is Stanley MORGAN not an option for us???

I would say zero chance Riley makes it to year 7 assuming things stay as is.

I think it could get a little better but I certainly don't and never have thought this was a good hire, it's a pretty bad one IMO. That being said we do have issues that these guys are dealing with that wont make it easy on them. Hopefully they can build a roster for the next staff if things don't work out but so far they don't seem to be all that great at recruiting.

I thought we got over that hump. Earlier in the year we were tackling better. Not today. This isn't sour grapes because we lost. Tennessee is not a good team. That only makes are play today worse.

Your ability to tackle is proportionate to the ability of the player you are going against. We looked better against inferior teams that allowed us to get the early 7 wins. I could tackle anyone on my HS team but when I came up against the other teams best I often failed.

Man, some of you are really down. Heck, I thought it would be a blow out with pretty much our second string playing this game. They hung in there and did their best to make a game of it. It's going to take a lot of recruiting to get the 2 deep to where it needs to be, because we just don't have much right now.

Tennessee is not a good team. The Huskers lost their Mojo in Columbus. Injuries played a big role, but something changed. They lack confidence.

Under the circumstances we played fairly well on offense except for the blocking up front...

Defensively they need to go back and learn how to tackle for crying out loud how many missed tackles did we have.

I'd say their a damn good offensive team. Disappointed we didn't run the ball better compared to Missouri and Kentucky.

We miss tackles against inferior teams too..

They had a feast on lower tier teams early in the year. They could make mistakes and they didnt show up as quickly. Then we run into the big boys and yes injuries played a part but everyone had them. Look what Tennessee had and yet they competed in the SEC and I would argue their record is above average but it appears they have talent and lost some to injuries. My goodness, they had some players that made us look silly.

And if I am correct as I watch the Orange bowl didnt Michigan lose their QB?

Of course we did but we get owned by better teams, we didnt get owned by Maryland, Purdue and the like on a regular basis. Thanks for pointing out the obvious.

Tenn is a good offense (QB made yards on almost everyone this year) - but we have to play better than that. Talent was part of it. Bad oline play and not tackling are why we lost.

You do realize Tennessee helped us by dropping 2 touchdown passes that would have added 14 more points on the scoreboard. Yes the team played hard against a team with much better athletes...but Nebraska was fortunate to only lose by 14 and realistic fans know it.

ok fine and you can leave Riley out also. If Gerry wasn't going to class and/or flunking Riley has to take action. Sit him a game or even a half and he'll go to class.

Gerry was not the difference in this game. He is considered a former Husker as soon as he was suspended. He doesn't even need to be brought up in the discussion by anyone.

We must have played some really bad team this year for us to get 9 wins. Reilly is not the answer.

We didn't beat a single power 5 team that finished in the top half of their division. 9 wins is mirage. The last CFP poll had at minimum 16 3 and 4 loss teams ranked ahead of us
