Very sad. Dying from anything at 17 is a tragedy. That’ll be all the B1G Presidents need for fuel...
That school had stopped football back in in July.
Still tragic, but he wasn't 17, that was the year he graduated, he was 20. I couldn't tell from the tweet, but the school he played for was California University of Pennsylvania, a Division 2 school.Very sad. Dying from anything at 17 is a tragedy.
not only that, I don’t believe they are even on campus this year. That school had stopped football back in in July.
Seems like there are significant health issues with this guy. Itd be nice if we got more info.
If only the cop's heart was stronger, he would have survived that headshot
almost all diseases or injuries have worse outcomes if the patient has significant underlying health issues
if a police officer gets tragically shot people aren't demanding to know more about his/her health history in order to opine if their outcome might have been better if they were just a bit healthier at baseline
only the non-fatal one.Do gunshots have 99.98% chance of survival?
If they had continued football, his life choices may have been different and maybe he does not get it and is still alive.....Still tragic, but he wasn't 17, that was the year he graduated, he was 20. The number of deaths directly related to COVID are astronomically overstated and the reason is $$$$ - hospitals get paid more if they can tie a death to the virus.
For example, I have a family member who recently lost her aunt to cancer. The aunt, although obviously battling cancer and dying from it, was tested FOUR times in the last 72 hours of her life because they wanted to try and get a positive COVID test before she passed. It's disgusting, misleading, and just plain wrong.
No traumatic injuries to either person... a 55 year old with obesity, coronary artery disease, diabetes and renal failure requiring dialysis or a 55 yr old who is healthy.2 identical traumatic injuries
who has the better chance of survival with the least significant long term health consequences?
a 55 yo with obesity, coronary artery disease, diabetes and renal failure requiring dialysis or a 55 yo who is otherwise healthy?
Were they shot in the head with a .50cal ?2 identical traumatic injuries

A guy posts inane straw man arguments on a message board. How long can he survive?

So did someone actually try to use this young man's death as a reason to cancel Big Ten football, swing an election, and destroy the American way of life and everything we hold dear?
Or did a high school just post a nice obituary for a recent graduate who happened to play football?
I get what you’re saying. I agree everyone should be as healthy as possible. Obesity costs this country tens of billions annually, not to mention the limits it puts on people’s quality of life.a person is only fatally shot if they die
some traumas are going to be universally fatal
for those that survive the initial resuscitation and make it to the ICU - underlying health conditions play a large role in subsequent survival and long term health challenges
not sure why some find this to be so complicated
Thanks for the info, and for the reminder of why I avoid Twitter as much as humanly possible.

It's always best to live by the old adage: "Don't believe all of what you read and only half of what you see."
The problem is most don’t delete the original story, just add another portion later. So the headline remains, but no one reads the boring correction. The problem now is all the people that read the original post are running all over spreading the word...
I seen the updated version on facebook and the original on here..
If his life took such a downward turn because he didn't have football for 2 months, then he was going to be in a world of hurt very soon, as it is highly unlikely that he has football beyond college if he is at a Division II school. If they had continued football, his life choices may have been different and maybe he does not get it and is still alive.....

In other words, blaming a football shutdown for life choices is a crap excuse.
Wow you completely missed PC’s point. Had he been a part of a structured
football program (practice, weight, film etc), he may of not been out doing activities that led to him being infected.
Why is there any assumption he or anyone else for that matter was careless and doing something that led them to become infected?
Because we have been told that if we social distance and wear a mask we won't get the covid. Anything else is careless
