On AMart. The kid is a warrior and without him we wouldn’t have scored a single point. Did he miss some open receivers? Yes. He has never been a QB with great vision and probably never will. He is not perfect and has flaws in his game. But shit the kid is a competitor and he made some fantastic plays that a lesser QB would not make. He threw his first pic in overtime. That sucked. But we should never have been in OT.

AMart, our receivers, and our defense kept us in this game. This game was lost four years ago when Frost hired Austin. Everybody wants to pin this loss on our special teams. And they are indeed horrible. But if we had a competent offensive line we would never have had to punt at the end. We can’t run or pass block. And don’t think for one second that all of those sacks and hurries didn’t take their toll on AMart and is the reason why he got a bit sketchy at the end.

We will not be back to being Nebraska until we have a good offensive line again. If Frost gets fired this will be the reason.

This lack of win is totally on AM as well as Special Teams. If he hits those receivers he constantly overthrows or not see wide open receivers running to the end zone like he did all game we WIN this game by at 21 points and that's with so-called bad offensive line play! With better offensive play we probably win by 28.

This game didn't have to be close just like most others. We choose to make it close because refuse to put our FOOT in teams ASS even tho they constantly bend over for us!!

He’s a great QB. Moved the ball against a stout D.

I believe in balance. Karma, if you will. I wonder how much bad did we do to attain greatness in the 90s to deserve the rotten losses we see today?. And why did it bring us Scott Frost to ring lead the circus?

I agree with your O-line assessment and it is not just on A-mart, but he has proven he is not a winner. We are in year 4 and that aspect has not changed. He is incredibly talented and has kept us in many games. Winners don’t make mistakes at crucial times, they get it done!

I would say the qb, o-line and receiver all equally blow chunks, if one ain't screwing up the other is
that's why I'd like to see us go back to the power I / option

The OL couldn't reliably block a tree stump, but AMart did not make good decisions as a 4 year starter in the last 5 minutes. In OT and in a 60 second drill you DO NOT TAKE A SACK. If the first receiver isn't open throw it away. You don't even want to throw it anywhere shorter than the first down marker. He still hasn't learned how to manage the clock and much of that is on the coaches. Are they even practicing that scenario. It never looks like it.

Amart played a great game until about that last series in regulation. Obviously the O line contributed to his problems but he failed to see some wide open WRs including one on the first play of OT wide open in the endzone.

Disagree. He's not the only culprit in this loss, but a major factor. For every good play he makes, he has 3 or 4 boneheaded plays. A competent quarterback would have put up 30 plus last night. He flat out can't see the field and make proper reads at all.

Ok. IF it's all on the o line AND that gets Scott Frost fired ( I don't think he will be) then it truly is Scot Frost fault for not having a competent o line coach.

I don't blame Martinez, I think he's been poorly coached and doesn't know how to read coverage downfield. There are often wide open receivers that he doesn't see for some reason.

Pennsy, I agree AM is a warrior. He’s a very gifted athlete. Is he a great QB? No. Makes too many decisions in the heat of battle that end up costing us. His heart and effort are in the right place. The mental stuff can somewhat be coached through repetition but for whatever reason it’s not happening. Love a lot about this team, but leadership is shooting itself in the foot. A lot.

AM makes mistakes and is not the greatest QB in the world, but once people saw how Logan Smothers was playing in the few snaps he had, most of the board had seen enough and was praying for AM to come back.

No QB is going to have success when only given two seconds to look around before having to run for their life. It also doesn't help when the OL is putting them in long yard situations because of false starts, but he doesn't have time to look 15 yards downfield.

Karma is a bullshit way of thinking

He can't see over the giant o-line, the only thing they can block is their own QBs sight!

AMart is not a "warrior". Jammal Lord was a warrior. He took 50 hits a game. Amart slides down in front of the 1st down marker. Last game. He could of been a "warrior" took the hit and got the 1st down.Makes a beeline to the sideline when theirs 20 yards in front of him (rutgers). Gets happy feet in the pocket instead of taking the hit standing and delevering the football. Lies on the ground with a Fat lip or whatever he had this game. Whatever it was he didnt need to lay on the ground and get checked out by trainers. He could of been a "warrior" and walked off the field.

He's not being used like an athlete which he is. He's being used as a QB which he is not. Our best play has been him running for his life. A busted play. He's wildly inconsistent. Im sure there's a play where he throws a pass in the pocket while taking a hit. I dont remember seeing one. He takes his eyes off his recievers way to early. I've seen plenty of QB's move up, move to the side while keeping there eyes downfield. Oline Pass protection is not good. Not his fault. But his pocket presence is not helping them out. You cant take a sack when you have 0 timeouts. He's done that 2 weeks in a row. He makes a great play then makes 4 bad reads in a row.

AM could've won the game for us but crapped down his leg in the most important moment

he may not have lost the game for us, but he sure as hell left no doubt we weren't going to win it

Does anyone give a damn anymore? The Huskers have sucked for 20yrs now. There’s zero reason to believe it will get better.

Overall, AM has played well the last three games. Unfortunately, he had two critical errors last night. The defense bailed him out after that fumble, but the INT in OT was a killer. He wasn't the reason the team lost to either OU or MSU.

Giving up the long punt return for a TD was catastrophic. Without that, Nebraska probably wins. The defense was dominating at that point, so it unlikely MSU would have gone the length of the field to score.

So lemme get this straight, you called him a keyboard tough guy, then proceeded to threaten him with a fight and set up a meeting spot... after misspelling bitch... Jesus you really are an idiot
It’s a running inside joke on here. Lol. Don’t be a bitch

AM sucks. Can't read a defense. Can't find open receivers. Can't win. Takes too many sacks instead of just throwing the ball away. Inconsistent. Looks for the sideline or looks to go down whenever a defender gets close to him. Starting to question his Toughness and his Mental Toughness. Seems to be in his "head" some games.

As the original poster suggested, we don't score if we don't have AM2. Look at the PFF grades for OL. #54 had a 0 grade for pass protection. That's like playing with four OL. You try and go through your progressions with DL hanging around your feet.
