Having a p5 school host 3 smaller schools and do a round robin early in the season is pretty common, cost effective and fills holes quick as their schedules aren’t planned out nearly as far in advance as football
No difference that the sec football teams schedule lower tier fcs schools in October or November
The difference for all you stooges is that we won’t have anyone in the non-con schedule worth a shit aside from Creighton and forget good wins, we need mediocre wins. sweeping this "event" represents neither.
wasting time with this trash signals two things to our fans:
1 - our RPI is already projected to be such that no actual D1 program has any use for us
2 - unless we go undefeated in the non-con the season's over before Jan 1
not only do we get to watch the worst coach in the worst program in the country's history for an astonishing 5th straight year, we seem to have no appetite to even attempt to compete for a post-season birth
Do you pay attention to other team’s schedules ?
of courseDo you pay attention to other team’s schedules ?
WrCuller Middle School might have an opening if... If they want a challenge??
did the same thing last year we played Queens ,I don’t think we are playing everyone will will play 1 team I assume.
No legitimate schools want to do a 1 for 1 and come to Lincoln and I can’t imagine Hoiberg wants to take a tough road scheduleThe difference for all you stooges is that we won’t have anyone in the non-con schedule worth a shit aside from Creighton and forget good wins, we need mediocre wins. sweeping this "event" represents neither.

except for when they go to Maui to play 5 top 30 RPI gamesDuke barely leaves Cameron indoor in the preseason.
It’s almost like teams travel for prestigious events and opponents and Nebraska isn’t one of themexcept for when they go to Maui to play 5 top 30 RPI games
No shit, dunce non-NU fanIt’s almost like teams travel for prestigious events and opponents and Nebraska isn’t one of them
It’s called scheduling wins. Doc Sadler and Bill Snyder would be proud.
Georgia says hello. Their schedule this year is a jokeNo difference that the sec football teams schedule lower tier fcs schools in October or November
We might lose to all of them.I get that NU is not going to persuade Power 6 programs to play in this heralded event, but couldn't they at least get some teams that are mildly interesting?
Hell, call up Tim Miles and invite San Jose State. Former Husker assistant Michael Lewis is at Ball State - they would probably come. Get Northern Iowa to bus over.
That still wouldn't be a great field, but at least it wouldn't be an embarrassment.
While I agree their schedule is a joke, starting #1 allows that luxuryGeorgia fans aren’t embarrassed to playing Tennessee-Martin, Ball St and UAB In football..
If we're afraid to schedule middle-of-the-pack (at best) teams from the Mountain West, MAC and Mo Valley, that says a lot, doesn't it?We might lose to all of them.
SEC schedule to be in the playoffs and the presidents still haven’t passed to play 9 conference games even though the commissioner is pushing for it..While I agree their schedule is a joke, starting #1 allows that luxury
Starting in the 200s does not
College hoops is an RPI sport. College football is not.
Bad wins don’t move the needle a single centimeter.
Again, being the best allows that luxurySEC schedule to be in the playoffs and the presidents still haven’t passed to play 9 conference games even though the commissioner is pushing for it..
Football doesn’t have a RPI because they only play one game a week and basketball plays 3/1 ratio compared to football.
Duke barely leaves Cameron indoor in the preseason.
Ever occur to you that the SEC doesn’t want to play any games against the B1G teams and go up North?Again, being the best allows that luxury
The SEC could play zero games and still produce the national champ every year
It’s very very tired & extremely incorrect to say their schedule is what makes them great. The SEC play more top 25 non-con opponents than the cowardly B1G every year.
Ever occur to you that the SEC doesn’t want to play any games against the B1G teams and go up North?
Like Wisconsin beating LSU and Penn St beating Auburn twice?Ever occur to you that SEC have no reason to ever play up north? They don't recruit very many kids there, so there is no reason to waste their time playing second rate schools in that part of the country.
Yea I’m sure if they played in Canada the outcome would be differentEver occur to you that the SEC doesn’t want to play any games against the B1G teams and go up North?
You are saying home field has no effect on a close game?Yea I’m sure if they played in Canada the outcome would be different
Lol incredible
Your loser B1G fan friends have poisoned your brain
The games aren’t close. “The narrative” lmao. You are saying home field has no effect on a close game?
There is a reason the SEC rarely travels outside their footprint. They don't want to risk changing the narrative. Look how Saban scheduled neutral site games, still in the south. Gives the appearance of a tougher game, while still playing in a stadium that is at least half Bama fans. They went to Texas last year and look at what happened. Bama has some good series coming up. Look forward to seeing what happens.
The SEC absolutely owns the BIG now and historically. Again, there is no gain for an SEC team to play there.Like Wisconsin beating LSU and Penn St beating Auburn twice?
Second rate games are not playing a non power 5 conference game and the SEC plays plenty of them just as the B1G..
Hell the last time any SEC teams ( Alabama,Auburn, LSU) came to Lincoln was clear back in the early Osborne era.
The last time Tennessee played a B1G team (Ioway) was when they played in them Pigskin classics…
It takes both teams from the conference that want to play one another..
Nebraska and Tennessee are the only 2 that will actually play in the future..
Because they play all the bowl games down south..The SEC absolutely owns the BIG now and historically. Again, there is no gain for an SEC team to play there.
Nice job cherry picking a game. Let's cherry pick another one and look how Bama handled Texas last year going on the road. And Texas was nothing special. The fact is, is that the sample size is so small because the SEC won't risk their reputation. The games aren’t close. “The narrative” lmao.
Georgia just won the national title by 100 in LA
Bama could play on mars & the stadium would be half full of tide fans
It’s loser talk from loser people who find every excuse for being losers
They at least schedule the games, B1G do not
do they pick the site of the playoffs? do they pick where the Peach Bowl or Sugar Bowl is played?Nice job cherry picking a game. Let's cherry pick another one and look how Bama handled Texas last year going on the road. And Texas was nothing special. The fact is, is that the sample size is so small because the SEC won't risk their reputation.
Why doesn't the NFL play all playoff games in the south if it doesn't matter? It does matter. You hate the Big 10. I get it. You don't think Georgia playing a bowl game in Atlanta or LSU playing in New Orleans is an advantage for them?
