So why have there been a million miles between our football and men's basketball programs for the last decade?
Now obviously, when talking about men's basketball, the state of Wisconsin has out-producted the state of Nebraska. Then again, the program has kept its best at home and kept guys like Gossert and developed him. More and more I am frustrated that we didn't sign Tre'Shawn Thurman. Was he a 5-star? No. Could he have helped us this year and beyond? Yes.
In terms of football, it's beyond frustrating. We out-recruit them every year. In fact, they have NEVER out-recruited us. Their spring games are free and barely draw 5,000.
I hope against all hope that we have turned the corner at least in football. I'm optimistic but shell-shocked. It's mighty tough living in Wisconsin and being the Badgers' b****. If nothing else, you'd think we'd learn from programs that that are so close geographically and mimic some of the things they're doing.
