About the only positive thing we can say about this regime is they are nice people and have lots of coaching experience. Solich had these same qualities in spades. Unfortunately he was not Tom Osborne.
So a dozen years later we have hired three new coaches and have merely come full circle and now have a slightly younger, but much less successful Solich Lite. Hopefully he is coming to the obvious conclusion that the growing noise from the OSU fan base was a call for retirement, not to take on a long term rebuilding project at a place with much higher expectations. Forty years of coaching at all levels of football is an impressive resume and most coaches with such a resume would have planned retirement not a five to ten year rebuilding project. It was a mistake but one easily remedied. Riley surely must be coming to the same conclusion.
