Similar questions as in the Buy-in Factor thread. I am wondering how much a difference we can expect this year simply because for everybody (except incoming frosh) it is their second year in their respective systems.
How much of a factor was unfamiliarity with new systems in the level/quality of play last year? Was first-year unfamiliarity a factor in the numerous big plays we gave up last season and, if so, how much? Which position groups struggled the most to adapt to new coaching philosophies? Which had the most difficult time unlearning habits from prior coaching? OL? DBs? LBs? Tommy? WRs?
More importantly, where specifically do you see a difference this year in improved performance simply by having that year experience under their belts? Which position groups/individuals do you believe will show the most improvement just based on greater understanding of and muscle memory to this coaching staff's concepts?
Or, in the end, do you believe the Second-Year Factor is really much of a factor at all/overrated?
