The quarterback situation

Right now we have three total (eligible) quarterbacks on our roster:

Sr. T. Armstrong
Sr. R. Fyfe
Fr. P. O'Brien

For next year: exit Armstrong and Fyfe, enter Lee and Gebbia for:

Jr. T. Lee
Fr.* P. O'Brien (*we hope he's still a freshman)
Fr. T Gebbia

Is that enough? Do we need to add another QB for the roster, if for nothing else than practice depth and reps? It seems like in the past we have always had a walk-on quarterback or two that could give us some numbers/depth at the position. That's not currently the case. (Well, I guess it would be for this year, since Lee will be here for practice depth, but next year we'll be down to three bodies at QB)

O'Brien is clearly and necessarily our third-string quarterback now. If everyone stays healthy, he should be able to maintain his redshirt, since our third stringer last year (Bush) never played a snap. With Lee getting an extra year of eligibility, I think it's even more important that POB keep his redshirt this season to keep two years of separation between he and Lee. If Lee wins the job in '17 and POB sees that he would have only one year after Lee leaves, he might be more inclined to look around. I don't know, just speculating. One possible plus, I would assume, is that now I'm sure POB will be kept practicing with the varsity instead of the scout team, giving him more reps in our offense instead of the opponents off a card. (Maybe lack of practice reps for third stringer makes that a wash?)

But with only three QBs on our '17 team, do we look to add another? I would think at least we'd be scouring the state for a good walk-on candidate, if not even offering a scholly to a guy like Vedral.
