There are some very strong character, inspirational kids on this team. Williams, Nabity, Darlington. Very impressed with how they handled themselves yesterday and how they represented the school and program. Couldn't have been easy.
The other thing I noticed from the vigil. A bunch of true freshman. Guys like Jefferson, Miller, Bootle, and Jackson. Probably didn't know Sam very well but there to offer support and help bring unity to grieving teammates.
Editing the OP to make mention of Caleb Lightbourn. True freshman speaking at the vigil and under an especially difficult set of circumstances because of what he'll need to do on the field this fall. Exceptional poise.
I sometimes forget that the players are 18-22 years old. They're basically kids. For some, this might be their first experience with losing someone that was so close to them. It won't be easy and I'll keep them and the Foltz family in my prayers.
