The other Univ team is playing well. Does that help?

Mavs hanging with Misery. Granted not the Missouri of old, but much more exciting to watch then mile's boys.

They have given Colorado, Minnesota, and Mizzou all they could handle on the road this season. They are a decent team, and zi think it's funny that neither Creighton or Nebraska are on their schedule.

Wow that's weird they don't play this year. Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure the mavs gave NU all they could handle in basketball last year. Pretty sure the baseball game was close as well

IIRC the final score last year was deceiving. I don't think either CU or Nebraska wanted anything to do with them this year. When Thurmond is on, look out. I don't like his outside shot, but he is very athletic.

I wonder if they might be concerned about helping to build the program. Playing a game against either team would expose them to a lot of potential fans in the state (well, mostly in Omaha). That could draw support away from Creighton or Lincoln. I know a lot people just assume that Omaha would be minor program, but, really, it doesn't need to be. It football, it was inconceivable that Omaha football would ever impinge on Lincoln football. In basketball, if Omaha gets the right coach and a few right recruits, there is no reason they couldn't become the best team in the state. No, they don't have as respectable of a conference, but Creighton grew up in the MoValley and North Dakota State made it to the second round last year.

I think its more simple than that. I think they are just afraid of losing to them (which I guess could lead to helping their program). Kind of like KU wouldn't schedule the Shockers for years. The argument could be made that nothing good for either of them if they played UNO. Win, well you are supposed to. Lose and OMG you lost to UNO!!!!!!! But it does make you scratch your head why Nebraska is playing some of the teams it is, when you have better competition less than an hour away. But with a freshman heavy team this year, I can understand why Miles didn't want to play them. CU??? Not so much.

Now that UNO is officially D1, I hope UNO becomes the destination place for local Omaha kids who CU and Nebraska would pass on, but are still good enough to play D1 ball.
