The Pats did not call a timeout with about 48 seconds left after Gronks big catch to the four. They had three left. The reason to save time is you never know when a short touchdown drive is going to be lengthened by a penalty.

You get the TD before you worry about keeping time from the other team.

KC should have called timeout immediately after the gronk catch. They wasted 5 seconds there. Get Mahomes another 5 sec on the last drive and they probably get a decent shot at a TD from the 12 or so.

KC yes, but the Pats even sooner. If I am not mistaken, they were down by four so they needed to make sure they scored a touchdown. Two timeouts in hand (for the Pats) would have not been useful if they had only five seconds left.

I don’t know why any team wouldn’t save all of their timeouts for the end of a game! Timeouts are so critical in potential game winning drives and defensive stops. Had KC had another timeout at the end of the game, they wouldn’t have needed to kick the field with more than 10 secs on the clock.

You never use 2nd half timeouts until the very end of the game!

The Patriots just somehow make other teams makes mistakes, I don't get it. Like previous poster said, bad clock management there, off sides later, even going back a few Super Bowls where the Pats didn't call a timeout where every other coach would have and the Seahawks do the unthinkable and go away from Lynch and end up tossing a pick. We could go on and on, but the bottom line is the Pats just make you crap your pants.

The time out that shouldn’t have been called by KC was right before half. The end result was a Pat’s TD. NE maybe would have only had time for a field goal.

This is the truth. Patriots were in no hurry there and the Chiefs preserved clock for them. They bet their defense would hold on 3rd down and any bet on the Chiefs defense was a poor one

The Patriots SHOULD have been in a hurry.

Did anyone really think the chiefs were going to win that game? The fact that the color commentator could call every play exactly how it was going to happen and the chiefs had no adjustments tells me they were a superior talented team with poor coaching. The patriots basically had two guys to go to down the stretch and they ran obvious sets with great execution. Chiefs just let it happen.

Billy B. has had his share of poor coaching moments.
