The Moment We've All Been Waiting For: This Season's Alternate/Throwback Jerseys

The only era I can find Nebraska uniforms like those,
are like around 1910.

Love them!

Last year's style (2005-ish) was only available from the Addias website.
Have not seen these listed yet.
I really liked the white jersies the players were wearing at Fan Fest too.
Also Huskers were wearing new jersies during the Kansas Fall exhibition...
had a red stripe down the side of the jersey to match the stripe on the pants.

A complete "car fire" uniform?!

Yup. Forgot to mention it back then.
It was with the white pants and thick red stripe halfway down the side...
the team that day was wearing a white jersey with a similar red stripe down the side.
So yeah, complete car fire uniform.

Getting those up to speed... Huskers first debuted those style of pants with the thick red stripe during a game in which a car caught on fire in the parking lot during a road game.

"the car fire".... one of the most classic moments during a Husker Baseball broadcast. That's why we listen Smokin

It shall forever live in Husker baseball fan lore: The Car Fire.

Post 68 in this thread is the genesis. Looks like it started in about the 5th inning with the score tied 2-2.

Here is the first photo of the car fire pants during the game in question.

At the time of this posting, Alex Henwood's mom has the top response in the twitter thread: "That is my kid and those pants aren’t great!"

With Jacob Warneke adding: "Should have added the pants to the car fire."

And here is the infamous car fire that started the moniker for the pant style...

On that day (18 Feb 2018), Nebraseball (3-1) defeated Washington State (0-3) 5-3.

Another memory from that game (post 135 from the above thread): McLaughlin said the "candy-stripe socks" from a couple years ago made him "salivate". Greg didn't know how to respond: "Well... okay."

1890... wow
The earliest photo of Nebraska Baseball I've found is from 1898.
I've found something similar used at times up to 1910.
Hard to tell, because in some of those old team photos not all the players wear the same uniform for the photo.

Loving those U of Ns Eek
I want a size 48
