The Iowa way

Like I mentioned in another thread Wichita st ran Gregg marshall out on the same evidence that is on Kirk but you io fans are always defending his racism why is that? kirk and son should have had there walking papers in august
Ferentz punched a player?

I’m not the calling McCaffery a racist what’s your point that he played 5 black Freshman.🙄
That the Tweet and OP are dumb for insinuating anything about Fran and race. It’s saying Fran can’t wear that apparel because his team appears too white. Off the Tweeter had any sense, he would have noticed plenty of diversity on the roster. It’s no surprise @headcard eats that stuff up.

CIDSPORTS must have some inside knowledge. Please be very specific on not the allegations, but exactly what happened or what was said. I think you are FOS.
Tomorrows game? 28-10 Iowa. Nebraska takes the lead at the end of the first half while forgetting there is a second half. In the locker room they will be having a mustache contest while the a Hawks regroup. After tomorrow, the fans will be turning the De-Frost fan on high.

Spending your Thanksgiving trolling the Husker board, I see. Says a lot about you. If you want to call me out for sharing the tweet, you could at least tag me.
I’m spending my thanksgiving in the NICU with my 3 week old son. It does say a lot about me, thanks for noticing. Not a whole lot going on between feeds. So I spend my time correcting the idiocy on message boards with some factual information. Again, saying a lot about me.

It was actually a pretty light hearted tweet. You could always get lost. There is another board where they will eat up all your excuses and will gladly turn a blind eye to all the issues at Iowa with you. They will also find all your shit talking and cheap shots at Nebraska hilarious.

Sorry to hear about your son, nothing tougher than that. Hope all ends up well.

When do I take cheap shots and talk shit? The most controversial thing I have said in a while was after the Penn State game. I said McCaffery isn’t going to take Nebraska to the next level. One opinion I see you agree with me on.

I’m interested in your opinion of the majority of players saying Kirk is the right man to lead the change. Are they “turning a blind eye”? Are they sell outs and uncle toms? Are the black coaches that remain at Iowa uncle toms? What about the black strength and conditioning coach that was second in command to Doyle for over a decade, sell out?

That’s fair about the Tweet possibly being light hearted.

I would never label those individuals that way, it’s not my place. They have to make the decisions that are best for them. I would have to question how Doyle’s assistant handled these situations. Doyle’s actions are pretty well documented and he did get removed from his position. What did his second on command think of these tactics? Did he take an action?

It doesn’t surprise me that many of the players are loyal to Kirk Farentz. We have see with our many coaching changes that players are very loyal to the coaches that recruit them and go to battle with them everyday. But having players that support the coach and having black coaches on staff doesn’t mean it’s a non issue. Like nearly every Iowa visitor we have seems to think. I never said Kirk Farentz necessarily had to go, but he did needed to take action. And all I can see is that he dug his heels in, did absolutely nothing and waited for it to all go away. That makes it pretty clear he doesn’t see a problem and/or doesn’t care. I would think having like 60 former players express these things would be very eye opening and pretty humbling, but not to KF.

What is his racism, please enlighten us.....

If expecting players to be mature responsible adults is racist then so be it lol. He could be like frost... not care about them and allow them to do whatever they want.

Plenty of black people that know him disagree. But I guess you know him better right? Lmao

From kiddie porn to sexual assaults, yuck.

Disgusting
Yes, three teenagers all dismissed from the team (you’ve had your share too, remeber the player running a crack house?).

While Iowa pays racist ass Kirk and Brian millions to abuse and discriminate against their own players.

The first part of your post is completely fair. The last part is something I’ve heard you say a lot and I’ve said numerous times it’s just not true. Brian is simply an asshole. The worst accusation that I’m aware of is him asking a black player if he was gonna rob a Bank when he was wearing a mask. A sentence I heard way too many times when we started wearing masks at work. White players have said they felt belittled by Brian as well. Being an asshole isn’t fireable at the level, IMO.

Kirk fired Doyle. Two years ago Kirk loosened a lot of the restrictions that the 60 players complained about. Dress codes, piercings, etc. It helped but it wasn’t at the root of the issue. Since then, he has brought former players on board to help with diversity groups. He allowed freshmen and sophomores to be in leadership groups that used to only be for upper class men.

Players have said they feel weight off of their shoulders and have felt a much better environment without Doyle and with Kirk’s changes. I’m guessing you wanted to see Brian booted but I don’t think being an asshole is fireable.

🙄Man you still here after 9 hours.. Hope you had time to enjoy eating Thanksgiving dinner with your family instead of being on a husker message board.🥴

I think husker sports are at an all time low if only thing you have to talk about is Iowa and that is hilarious best of luck Friday make it a game at least
Some these guys are as dumb as their football staff that can't count to 11 ;)

"Some these guys"....and definitely "all time low if only thing" is to try to decipher wtf you are attempting to type. Dumb.....irony...... lmao.

The Iowa Way

The Heartland series spotlights Iowa interim Strength and Conditioning coach who replaced Doyle.

He talks about the need to evolve. Some who played in the Iowa program have said Doyle wasn't the staff person big on change. Fwiw
This isn’t worth the bandwidth you used to post it

beat it dweeb

I can’t imagine the internal conflict of many in this and other related threads

One on hand they see an opportunity to disparage their main rival (Nebs present day equivalent to Oklahoma in the 70s-80s)

but in order to do so they have to acknowledge a systemic problem (racism) that they spent much of the year claiming is extremely rare, overblown or simply didn’t exist ... including when initially commenting on the specifics of the Iowa situation many months ago

Quite the struggle

Perspective on the talk of Iowa's interim strength and conditioning coach.

Comparisons to Gregg Marshall at Wichita are a huge failure. Apples to oranges.

Many doubt Coach Doyle was handled right. After 22 years, and the amount of time he spends around players, as the video reminds college football fans, the S&C coaches spend more time in a normal year, then anyone else.

Nebraska is a blue blood program (1962 to 1997 - two coaches).

Iowa is known for consistency and being one of the better college football programs for developing NFL ready talent (two coaches from 1979 to present).

Iowa is a developmental program, not a blue blood program. Seeking 6 straight and 7th in 8 years. Prior, Nebraska won 8 of last 10.

Kirk Ferentz was 1-1 as an OL coach and 6-5 as a HC. Scott Frost is 0-2 as HC.

Iowa vs. Nebraska

Go ahead and discount Solich who had a better winning pct than Fry and Ferentz at Nebraska..

Also priority to our Rose Bowl appearance Nebraska was a top 10 program, from 1869-1941 Nebraska had a top 10 winning percentage in the country until we went on hard times from 1942-1961..

Frank Solich beat Iowa each time as head coach. Mission accomplished.

He wasn't the leader for the long-haul, and we have witnessed where Nebraska has been on their journey, since 1997.

His 6 years were better than any of Ioway best 6 years in their history..

No comment Nebraska was a top program at the very beginning of college football huh..
