I do not mean firing him today, although i would not be against it, but doing it at the right time, to me is a positive. And the right time is if any currently available coaches are worthy. If currently coaching but could sign them early and let them finish out with their current team.
1. Inject optimism and hope to the fans. Let them know, yes, the admins see the shit show and believe you deserve better. Chinander, Lubick or Bush interim would at least peak some interest for a couple games.
2. More freedom to look for the right guy instead of having to hide it all season using back channels and hoping no one talks, also may get more interest or communication this way.
3. If this goes to shit as I suspect, recruits are gone, etc. So that is reality, but, if they know a change is coming and a good hire you may actually hold on to some.
4. Point 3 may be moot as we need the right coaches more than one recruiting class so cant let the tail wag the dog.
5. Current players must know whats going will give them hope of getting better coaching.
6. Frost had long enough, most coaches would love this job outside of a handful of people that dont need to come here. Jobs like this dont come along often(5Mill per year) and all of our benefits. If any coach is worried about the amount of time Frost had is a) either blind or b) a beta kind of person that wouldnt work out.
7. The Big Red is not dead. All blue chip programs have had dead periods. We sniff a good coach and players that work hard, it comes back strong.
8. The rest is bullshit, Scott is floundering, cut the cord move on you can get a good coach to come here and do it happily. Recruiting and team will be fine. Just do it.
9. There is talent on this team. With sound coaching there is enough there to play solid ball while the new coach builds. And yes a solid coach can make a bowl game in first year and this team playing better. Happens a lot with good coaches.
10. The ineptness of our coaches from Scott's comments after illinois, national perception, the fact our coaches cant tell that Adrian sucks, yes sucks and hit his ceiling. I dont give a shit about the line or the running backs. Recievers open and to save his life he cant get rid of the ball on time, whether not smart enough or too scared or whatever. Watching him in the pocket is the most painful thing at these games. How the hell does scott not see it? Yes, lets pull the plug on this embarrassment.
Bonus #11. Help Scott Frost, i know this must be killing him to live this, but he is rich with money, and give him the relief of having it over. I dont dislike or wish him ill he is just not right for this job.
2nd Bonus: Please hire someone with attention to detail. The best coaches and legendary coaches always do and I do not believe Scott is that kind of coach or we would not be having this conversation.
Rant over. Time to turn the page at somepoint in the next few games.
