Tennessee cooked for violating recruiting rules

It's weird when a school gets all indignant about a head coach coming onboard, and doing exactly what you brought him onboard to do: Compete in the conference.

Pruitt did just that.

Rivals recruiting rankings:
2018: Tennessee finishes 20th in the nation, BEHIND SEVEN OTHER SEC PROGRAMS
2019: Tennessee finishes 13th in the nation, BEHIND SIX OTHER SEC PROGRAMS
2020: Tennessee finishes 8th in the nation, BEHIND FIVE OTHER SEC PROGRAMS

All the recruiting violations levied here, including handing recruits McDonald's bags of cash, improved their recruiting results, yet was only good enough to put them in the middle of the pack in the SEC for recruiting.

In other words, kids were turning down these sums of cash Tennessee was offering in order to go to other conference schools. I'm sure for free. Lol.

The level of corruption in this sport is astounding.

I can’t remember which recruiting analyst it was, but he was on either 1620 the zone or 93.7 the ticket talking about a recruit who came from abject poverty, sporting a gold Rolex at a camp after his recruiting visit to Tennessee the prior week.

Their crime was not winning enough. No doubt the big boys in the SEC are doing the same thing but they are media darlings because they win.

Ha, gotta love the thought of handing out cash in McDonald's bags. It fits pefectly the popular cliche of what the $EC has been doing for years - bags of cash. RollingLaugh

Now I doubt Tennessee cared much about using cash bribes to recruit. What they cared about was those coaches being dumb and sloppy enough to get caught.
Are they sure it was McDonald's and not a McDowells bag? Like when Eddie Murphy took all of Arsenios pocket money and put in a sack and gave to Randolph and Mortimer?? Hmmmm?? How long this been going on??

Several articles have cited Donde Plowman, Chancellor, for the firings at Tennessee. That name was familiar.... She was the Dean of UNL's Business College, and Exec. Vice Chancellor and Chief Academic Officer at UNL before accepting the position at the Univ. of Tennessee.

Just think, we might of had Joe Burrow.
Now why did you have to go and do that?

He was committed to Butch Jones. When he got fired, we got AM to flip. Just think, if Jones didn’t get fired we might of had to settle for Joe Burrow.
I don’t think so. Do you think he’s better than Vedral?

Learned how to kill football programs during her time in NE

Martinez and Penix were both committed to Tennessee, same class. When Pruitt was hired, he pulled Penix's offer a week before the December signing date. UT still wanted Martinez. At that point he chose Nebraska.
