All I’m saying is the doctors cleared him. Why would they do that if he shouldn’t play?
That’s all I’m getting at. If your cousin is a neurological doctor he obviously knows his stuff. So why hasn’t it changed with football?
I think the changes are coming, we hear more talk about it in just about every game where someone gets a concussion, the need to do more to prevent and to evaluate the severity of them. My cousin believes the NFL, NCAA, and the NFHS are going to mandate even more criteria geared towards making evaluation of concussions much broader than the current standards.
He's encouraged by some of the equipment changes that are being looked at to lessen them, but said something I think we all know, football has started a slow decline, and the movement to eliminate it at nearly all levels has already begun and will continue to gain momentum.
But I get where you're coming from as well, most coaches are going to let a kid play if he's cleared. I didn't mean to come off as an ass, so sorry about that, I just think the risk to Lee, especially with the way the O-line plays, is of concern, I'd hate to see him take another shot to the noggin so soon after the one he took last Saturday.
