Gods country
One thing we tend to overlook is other schools tampering with our players, makes me wonder if players like pricewell and ej are leaving because a school has been after them for a while offering them a better financial package, similar to Hausmann going to Michigan

It will be interesting to see where some of these players end up at that is for sure..

Princewill had some kind of issue early this fall. Nobody is willing to discuss it. I’m sure he or a representative were reaching out to other teams months ago.

A course tampering is happening. If people are connected with a NIL collective they can reach out on any social media platform to players around the country and pitch their support. They don’t need their phone number anymore

It would be very easy to tamper and there’s no doubt it goes on at extreme levels.

Hey, would you be interested in …?

You’d be naive to think Nebraska isn’t tampering with other school’s players too…it’s just part of the landscape today
Exactly, every team should be. If I reached out to a player to recruit him to Nebraska, that's not tampering.

What percentage would you put each of these guys at for chances they end up on an NFL roster? This is their chance at maxing their payday. Could be there only chance. I don't think it's too risky.
I think for most of these guys, Nebraska would be willing to offer the most that these players are going to get. And probably the best opportunities at playing time to boot. I think a lot of it just comes down to stupid decisions being made, either from outside pressure or kids getting in their own head.

Tampering, contracts and transfers need to be reigned in.

Personally I don't think anyone intended players to play for 5 different schools . I think contracts should be for 2 year stints like most assistant coaches. You can renegotiate your nil contract 1 time or move on. You could get a waiver for 2nd transfer if head coach leaves or is fired. For the sake of both parties, you get 2 weeks after NEW coach is in place to decide. That gives players and coach ample time to feel each other out. You could tweak that to entire staff so that they could see who new position coach and coordinators are or maybe coordinator only.

It'll be different 5 years from now than the wild wild west it is today.

Edit: but tampering is a big deal and needs to be addressed. All these agents will make that hard

As long as every player is a free agent every year — until player contracts are implemented — I don’t know that the term tampering even makes sense. When should we ethically wait to approach players? After the regular season? After the meaningless bowls? After the 12 team playoffs? If tampering is a concern shouldn’t the portal be closed until after the playoffs?

But what does seem certain is that until player contracts exist the bowl season figures to continue to be a watered down mess. Would it even be surprising if some very good players from the 12 playoff teams enter the portal next week? This is now pro football and pro athletes look out for their bank accounts first. Since the portal opens before the playoffs even start, is it fair to players on those teams to wait six weeks to explore portal options or be considered traitors by their schools?

Yep. Our coaches should seriously be recruiting anyone, anywhere.

Go beyond the usual places and times.

At the pre-game prayer.

During the post-game handshake.

After a hit out of bounds on our sideline. A bunch of our coaches are right there. One of them could have pre-printed NIL offers for the opposing players we are interested in. Put that offer on his hand before he goes back to his huddle.

If the teams get into a brawl and you're pulling a kid off a pile -- that's some perfect 1:1 time.

Always Be Closing.

What's the NCAA going to do?

Of course someone tampered with them. Our coaches damn well better be tampering with other players too. Please don't tell me you don't think everyone was doing it??

Holla

hopefully the ncaa will include the hausmann violation among the scores of other violations michigan faces.

So I heard that contacting a kids agent is supposedly not tampering. You just can’t contact them directly. And of course most of these kids have agents. I mean, WTF?

Not sure if that’s true, but i assume so as I heard Carriker state that EJs agent had like 20+ teams contact him

Because his agent propositioned him

If Hausman didn’t record such a great game vs Michigan I wonder if they would have tampered with him. Probably not.
