Was at the Husker Collectible store in the mall and ran into them looking around the store alongside me.
One thing that stood out to me was how much tougher it was learning the offense this year compared to last year. Last year the coaches must have kept it decently simple for obvious reasons but the coaches obviously raised the bar. They said injuries and inexperience is the biggest battle but both felt very excited about the future.
Both raved about Gates and his passion along with Farmers dedication to training this last offseason and how impressive his weight loss really was. Talking to these guys it seems they are are a pretty tight knit unit.
To be honest I didn't try to talk a lot of football with them but rather get to know them as people. One thing I'll say is these guys bleed Husker Red and love playing for Nebraska.
Lastly, I asked if they were going to play mad Saturday and they both smiled and said, "Oh yeah."
