I think there's a major alcohol differential tonight for the OP.

Our Defensive Line has not been able to even sneeze on Barrett all night. The rest of our no-name defense looks even worse when the receivers are able to get open with that much time to throw. It all starts up front. Give NU, the Alabama DL and we have a shot
we need a qb that can pass, thats pretty important if your running a passing offense. if you don't have that your offense spins it wheels, and your d-fense gets tired.
Maybe you should claim you are drunk. It would give you an excuse for your stupid post.

Well, OP may have overstated it, but if PSU can defeat OSU, then do you want to say that the same talent gap exists between PSU and us? Clearly not. I guess we can assume that OSU didn't use its talent well against PSU, but still, unlike PSU, which surely doesn't have any more talent that we do, we are down by 52 after 3 quarters. This isn't just a talent gap.
Come on. One game does not tell the story of this team.
how many starters and second string players were walk ons? you can go check then realize youre dumb for not thinking there is a drastic talent gap that takes time to fill. Looks like were on right track with recruiting. This game just sucks, thats what you say and move on
On the good side, OSU may relax a bit so we can win the 4th quarter and beat our chest about that and our conditioning...

PSU's DE's dominated OSU's OT's in their game. They pressured Barrett consistently. Our DE's did not make a tackle against Wisky and haven't done anything tonight. That by itself is huge.
Of course not. I love Mike Riley as a person and a leader of young men. But he better start landing Top Ten recruiting classes if we ever expect to compete with Ohio State and Michigan, because they have tremendous coaches that recruit at an extremely high level.
OP catching a lot of heat here, and I get that, but I have ZERO argument with the scared little boys thing, it was laughable to watch them get their a** handed to them every play, talent gap was obvious, man gap even bigger, they wanted NOTHING to do with big boy football!
I guess I worded it wrong, the "effort" was laughable, if you were watching the same game as I was, it was either laugh or cry, I mean let's take tackling(or pushing) for example. WTH was that? I was at one point looking for a running clock but then remembered this isn't youth football and there IS NO MERCY RULE. Hoping for a better effort next week, by the very fact we have only Big 10 West foes left, the effort should improve, or it may be that fickle talent gap should close a bit.
The fact of the matter is, PSU was OSU's wake up call. Their backs were against the wall tonight. If they want to play for the NC, they not only have to win all their games, but have to win them in impressive fashion. We caught them on the wrong week. Not saying that is an excuse, but it is an explanation.

I too thought the defense mentally gave up before halftime. That was the biggest disappointment to me. We have big problems on the offensive line, but defensively, this was absolute garbage.
Guys were out of position, sloppy tackling, getting beat by receivers, it was all there in spades. It didn't appear to change either. Did we make any adjustments? Did we stop them even once?
I don't know what happened with that, but that was one of the worst defensive performances ever. I don't think it was a talent gap thing either. I think the energy was not there, it was like the defense didn't want to win, didn't want to fight.
That lack of intensity is unacceptable. Take away the blackshirts.

What? After a season in which they kept us in games all the time, your advice is to pull the blackshirts?
I get that people are upset and all, but enough with the drama... all pulling the shirts might do is lose this team again... you can't do something so drastic because of one game. Way too knee jerk here...
