Supposed to be game week

golf, nba, nhl, mma all doing just fine. us open tennis started today. mlb now no positives. we'll see fans at college football games starting sept 12th.

the only cluster currently resides with the one league that decided not to participate: the B1G
Golf is an individual sport played entirely outdoors and easily compatible with masks and distancing. MMA is two fighters at a time and one ref who need to test negative, you leave out the fans and you're good. Same for tennis.

NHL and NBA have both been in bubble mode and are both small-roster, professional sports that proceeded with massive alterations to the way they play. MLB wasn't in bubble mode and they have had rounds of infections go through teams but still small-roster, pro sport.

Let's not pretend those other sports are very comparable to college football where the athletes are living on campus, going to classes with tens of thousands of fellow irresponsible 20-somethings, and then being on a team of 100+ dudes whose sport involves heavy contact on pretty much every single play.

Can it be played? Yes. Will there be infections? One has to imagine so. It's all a question of what's your comfort level with knowing your sport is transmitting this virus.

It's not virtue signaling it's just being a better person and realizing language norms change over time
F-bombs mean a person has evolved into a better person? And they should also be considered Language norms now? I’m sure you talk to your kids that way too, don’t you? After all, it’s what makes you better.

What a piece of work you are.

As has been said repeatedly (and I don’t think you disagree) the bolded words above are precisely why they should play. They are gonna be exposed no matter what they do.

I think he was talking about the use of "retarded," not about F-bombs.

football will be fine with no apples-to-apples comp, just like the sports mentioned have been.
