Michigan was down to its final strike against Illinois in the losers’ bracket of the Big Ten tournament. A loss would likely have meant the end of the season. Instead, it was a semi-miraculous walk-off victory that led to two more wins which was just enough to sneak into the NCAA tournament as one of the last four in.

The Wolverines went 3-1 at UCLA this season. The Bruins didn’t lose a weekend series all season. Michigan was the only team all year to even compete with them.

Florida State was also one of the last four in and is unbeaten in the tournament after dominating Georgia and winning two games at LSU.

Craziness.

As much as I didn't care for the behavior of a couple of the Michigan players when we played them, I was definitely pulling for them to make it to the CWS. It puts yet another hole in the argument that we can't expect much success just because we are in the B1G.

It’s two Big Ten teams in seven years to make it to Omaha. That’s sixth among conferences during that period. Which is about where we see the conference ranked nationally these days, right?

Sure-but the way some people talk, you'd think the conference was a lot worse. It really revealed to me how out of whack some people's perceptions of the conference are when somebody earlier this year seriously asked if the B1G was a one-bid league. It hasn't been a one-bid league since before we got in, and there have been at least 3 teams in for 5 years straight.

I'm liking how the CWS is turning this year.

- The Florida St/ Mike Martin story.
- Louisville, I consider a Northern school.
And I like to stand behind teams that have to play in the snow, at times.
- Miss.St. has the B1G connection with Indiana's former head coach.
- Texas Tech. Beat them on a neutral field. Plus didn't want Oklahoma St reminding me of that final out throughout the CWS.
Makes you feel how close Nebraska is.
- Vanderbilt just amazing pitching.
- and then Michigan...
The team the Huskers won the regular season series against,
and then bumped them out of the conference tournament.
I know the roster of the Wolverines so well, it's just silly.
Which even more stresses, how close this Nebraska team was from being something really special.
Go B1G!

Maybe if Arkansas makes it, then we know that storyline too.
And hopefully the Tarheels, just to keep the SEC humble.

So a lot of things to jump behind for this CWS
to keep, at least me, intetested.

Unless this is mocking the SEC chant, please let this be the last time this shows up on this board. Actually, let’s not use it again either way. :)
This is a slippery slope. Next thing you know, I won't be allowed to use "Nebraseball" anymore. :D

Auburn scores 13 in the first inning en route to a 14-7 win over North Carolina to advance to Omaha.

Arkansas currently leads Ole Miss 8-1 in the 5th inning for the final spot in the CWS.

You would never hear a B-1-G chant at a Michigan/Ohio St. football game.
Even if it ended in a Tie.
Laughing
Still pulling for the Wolverines in the CWS.
Because you know, we got to keep up with the Jone's Winking
And because of this...

.

Got to keep building respect.

But honestly, at the beginning of this year,
no one really knew how the B1G was going to perform.
And for awhile it didn't look good.
Of course I'm still bummed that Ohio St back-doored their way in.
But I'll put on my conference pride hat, and be proud of 5 Regional seeds.

The B1G will never be the SEC in terms of baseball.
But this season,
the B1G can say they gave the Big XII and Pac 12 a run for their money.
And the B1G likes money!
