Bottom 1st
Leadoff single to LF for Meyers. Altavilla lays down a bunt and gets on with an E1 as the pitcher struggled to pick it up. Wasn't a very well placed bunt but worked out. Miller walks the bases loaded. Schreiber with a 2 RBI single past 3rd!!! Alvarado grounds out to 3rd but is safe on the FC, runner thrown out at 2nd to put them on the corners with one out. Roskam grounds into an inning ending DP

A grounder to Altavilla is then overthrown to 2nd (E6) as a runner scores on the play, runners advance to 2nd and 3rd on the error. A flare out to the SS and they double up the runner off 2nd who is caught off the bag on the hit (6-4 DP)

Silva's "its better to be lucky than good" mantra backfired again as Alvarado sits ready to pitch and doesn't get the call.
How does it make any sense to be in 3 tight games and after 27 Innes nags your supposed closer hasn't thrown a pitch yet? That just lacks basic common sense.......
We had a darn good closer last year. But it made too much sense to keep him in that role. He's been stretched out, gave up the game winning hit in game 1 and right now stands to be the pitcher to give up the game winning hit in this game. And he has a few other times this year too. Hardly anything about the management of the pitching staff makes sense.

Well, if you're going to win one, win the last one. Still a disappointing weekend. Really had a chance to move up with Minnesota losing their series.
