Important series win. Had to have this one being at home. Really like having the offense we have this year-being down a couple of runs seems almost like nothing. Seems like it's been awhile that we could rely on the offense like we can this year.

One walk, how about that? Didn't come until the 9th too. Almost got out of there walk free.

That was a very important series win. Keep it rolling, boyz.

It'll be nice watching illinois beating the teams we're competing against for the title for the rest of the year.

they're good enough to beat anyone on any given day and they play against michigan and minnesota. that sure as heck won't hurt anything. we survived a semi-tough weekend.

need to keep going. 3 big non-losses against northwestern next week.

Nice way to finish the series. Pitching has to get fixed. That wont work against MSU and any game where the offense gets in a rut.

Can anyone explain how Krayton is 13 spots higher than us in the RPI? We have 7 top 50 wins and 10 RPI top 100 wins. They have zero in both category.

we lost to wichita state and have 2 more losses.

honestly the difference between 50 and 25 is pretty small right now. but that's why.

RPI is all about wins and losses. It uses win %s - your win %, your opponent's and their opponent's win %. RPI doesn't care about rankings, only win %.

Creighton has a better win % (.750) than we do (.704). Creighton opponents have a better win % (.526) than do our opponents (.509).

And that's the answer. That and what Kleitusbpn said. There is a tiny fractional difference between ours and Creighton's actual RPI.

34 Creighton RPI .5771
47 Nebraska RPI .5670

That's a group of 14 teams bunched pretty close together. A couple wins different here and there would jumble their ranking quite a bit.

It will have a way of working itself out by the end of the year. What stinks is we play some pretty poor RPI teams the next week.

Boyds World hasn't updated his numbers yet...he is really slacking this year. It just does not make much sense to me(I get how its calculated)...but considering the difference between top 50 and top 100 RPI teams we have played by default you would think our numbers would be better. Apparently, teams like Northern Colorado/WSU/and Purdue really weigh us down.

That's the answer. We have more bad teams than cretin does. Still, the RPIs are sliver close.

it's always been that way. that's why i thought it was completely and utterly nuts to schedule all these extra 200+ rpi's. playing that game itself actually is worse for your rpi than not playing. if you're going to do that, rpi wise it makes more sense to schedule wayne state so the game doesn't even count.
