Sunday March 14th: Nebraska vs. Ohio State (Nebraska loses 6-4)

A quick update: Nebraska hitters started out great by scoring 2 runs on 4 hits but haven’t had a hit since the 1st innings.
OSU had a couple 2 run bombs in both the top of the 4th and top of the 5th.

A leadoff single by Banjoff is advanced to 2nd on a SAC bunt by Everitt. Matthews then K’s on a questionable call by the home plate umpire. A couple passed balls does score Banjoff. A solo shot by Foster ties the game at 4-4!!!

Top of the 5th Purdue had a 6-1 lead. That disappeared like a balloon in a storm. Now 11-6 Michigan in the top of the 8th.

Yep, that and the OSU long ball made huge difference this game. Time to take the frustration out on Iowa.
Nebraska not as patient at the plate today. They didn't get big pitch counts against OSU starting pitcher. Glad we got to see Martin,Kissack and Olsen. Will need arms for the season & 4 game series.
Need to win the doubleheader and go 3-1 for the weekend. Lets go Huskers.

I saw they changed the lineup by moving some young guys up. Sometimes that happens and it messes with a batters mentality. However, they have been hitting better than most so you have to give them that shot. That’s baseball though.
Win this afternoon against the klansmen, then we can call it a very successful weekend.
It’s to early to figure out how many B1G will get bids besides the conference champion...
I think Michigan gets in based on recent history and the fact they are the best team. Other teams that look to have the best chances are Nebraska and Indiana. So early to tell on the others but none have looked too impressive outside of the three mentioned. Without the out of conference games to compare I’m guessing the committee will need to see a really good in conference record.
