I think they should try this "load up the bases and let Swansen unload" strategy more often than just the 1st inning in game 3 (edit: I forgot about the doubleheader last week, but it would have been Sunday ) . I will take the head coaching job for $88K/year, you're welcome.

Now 11-5. Win or lose, the last inning shows how fundamentally unsound this team is. When you are up 11-0, you just take outs. You don’t try to make SC top 10 plays and risk letting the opponent back in the game. Just take the outs they give you. Essentially 3 errors (physical and mostly mental), otherwise Maryland gets at most 1 run in the inning.
It starts with Bolt, and it trickles on down to the players. So frustrating.

If only they were always this locked in at the plate. 20-5 now and that inning, which was just bafflingly stupid and frustrating, is now an afterthought. The potential has always been there, they've just been more eager to strike out 3 straight times with runners in scoring position most of the year.

Completely agree. The potential is there. They are just unwilling or unable to play small ball when needed. You can’t win every game out-slugging the other team. And that is all on the head coach.

Friday was frustrating, but the Terps ended up being who we thought they were. Winning a road series is all good.
