I can't stand when teams and fans go into a game with a defeated attitude. You have to go in there not only thinking, but believing that you can get the win. And this Nebraska team has enough athletes on the team, starting with our QB, the Big Ten conference's best wide receivers, a nice stable of running backs, and a defensive backfield that can hang with anyone.

Is Nebraska perfect? Far from it, but with the pieces they have, I believe they could knock off OSU on the road or in a B1G Chamionship game.

But if you are asking for an honest assessment of Nebraska vs OSU then I think it is pretty obvious that they are a better football team than we are. So is Alabama. And Clemson. Could we beat those teams? Sure we could. Would we? If we played Alabama 10 times they would probably win 8 out of 10. Sheez. I have been very positive about Riley, this year's team (I think we go 10-2 or 9-3), and the direction we are headed. But don't ask me to just become a mindless booster when it comes to an honest appraisal of our two teams. I think they are better than we are and if I were a betting man I would put my money on OSU for the win. And I bet further if you took a poll on here and asked people on this board to predict the outcome of that game, most would pick OSU

They are very good. I just don't see our D being able to slow them down like MSU did last year, so we will have to control the ball and the clock. The problem with that is, their D line is better than our O line. So can TA consistently hit the short and intermediate passes to keep drives alive and score in the red zone against a very athletic OSU back 7? Possible, but not very likely.

If we split with OSU and Wiscy (winning a dogfight at Camp Randall) and make it to Indy, I would think everyone in Huskerland would be pretty satisfied.

If the game happened today, and both teams brought the a game, I'd say 38-20. Nebraska is careless with the ball, 51-20.

That said, a lot can happen, and it's an odd year on college football.

We don't agree on much but on this one we do. I HATE conceding before a game is played. I got a lot of Missouri(minus the meth) in me. They MAY be the best but they haven't beat us yet.

If you'll note in my post, I said they were likely the best team in the conference. I just have seen so much OSU love here and elsewhere that it was starting to bother me. Yes, if I had to pick a winner, I pick OSU also. I'm just saying that our team is talented enough that with the right breaks, we can win that game. Give OSU a couple untimely turnovers and it's within reason that Nebraska can pull off the upset.

Sorry - I had just seen several on here anointing OSU as the eventual B1G Championship and then a BTN post by Tom Dienhart (sp?) about how OSU won't lose a regular season game and it was just bothering me.

What would be really ironic is if Nebraska beat OSU in Columbus but then turned around and lost to them in the B1G Championship game.

OSU fan here. We are not unbeatable. Nobody is. I want to see how our D line holds up against a big physical O-line that likes to pound the ball. Oklahoma had some success running the ball against us. We also have not faced a true option type QB. On the other hand, this is the fastest Ohio State team I have seen in my 50 years of following OSU football. We have so many playmakers on offense that it is difficult for any defense to match up against us. Because of our youth and tough Big 10 road schedule (at Wisconsin, Michigan State and Penn State) I think we can definitely lose a game.

Are they good? Absolutely. Are they the best team in the conference? Most likely.

Are they unbeatable? No way.

Teams like Michigan, Michigan State, Wisconsin, Nebraska also happen to have athletes on their team and a bounce here or there, an untimely fumble, an injury (Nebraska just had 3 starters at least get hurt in the game last week), and anything can happen.

I can't stand when teams and fans go into a game with a defeated attitude. You have to go in there not only thinking, but believing that you can get the win. And this Nebraska team has enough athletes on the team, starting with our QB, the Big Ten conference's best wide receivers, a nice stable of running backs, and a defensive backfield that can hang with anyone.

Is Nebraska perfect? Far from it, but with the pieces they have, I believe they could knock off OSU on the road or in a B1G Chamionship game.

OSU is going to take our secondary cushion and let those athletes take over. Our other option is to play up close and get burnt over the top. Probably a year away

We don't have the horses to pull off a win in Columbus. They have too much speed and are too physical up front. Is it possible to win? Yeah but I'm not getting my hopes up. 11-1 would be a hell of a year for a team deficient in talent at a lot of spots like we are this year.

Speed? Yes OSU has it, but it isn't Oregon fast. Sure Oregon isn't doing very well this year, but they are still the fastest team we will see all year and we handled their speed pretty well actually. For anyone to say our Huskers don't have speed are on crack and need to open your eyes. The bad part about this year even though we are 5-0 is that we have been playing to our competiton. We may have won, but bad teams we've played we played down to their level and stunk it up. Same can be said when we've played good teams we have played very well even with flubs. I truly believe that if it's close in Columbus going into the 4th we win as there is not one team including The Ohio St on our schedule that can take us in the 4th. Just sayin and you can take that one to the bank. By the way regarding OSU, they have a great secondary but their run defense sucks it up the wazzu and TA could very well have a banner day tearing that D up with his legs. IMHO T.A. will shine extremely bright in that game as our whole Offense will as OSU hasn't even seen an O anything like ours or even will in this conference this year as it is that multifacited.and our receivers just very well may tear that secondary of Bucky's to shreds. How exactly would we have the edge in the 4th against Ohio State? I'm certain that their legs will be much fresher than ours will. We don't have the same sort of depth that they do. I like what we've seen in the 4th quarter but none of those teams were Ohio State or even close to Ohio State,..

LOL Is this sarcasm? You have got to be kidding. Yeah I wish we had speed like Oregon. The Buckeye run defense sucks? Are you talking about the current number one defense in the nation for allowing the fewest yards at 90 per game? The defense that has given up a total of 0 rushing TD's? The defense that has given up 23 points in four games? This from the very youngest team in the nation. You may want to actually watch some football before your next post.
