Stop losing focus of what Nebraska's problems have been, it has been stopping the run and turning the ball over. WCO, Spread, Option Offense, who cares, Nebraska has been fine on offense. There are concerns, but worse case scenario we are 2005 Nebraska on offense with much better skill position players.
Stopping the run has been the problem. I know we all have battered wife syndrome from the previous staff & Cosgrove when it comes to stopping the run, but it's not that hard. Stopping the run is football 101. Giving up 400 yards to one dude isnt the norm. Bummy Iowa with probably six 2-stars from Dubuque starting rarely ever has trouble stopping the run. PSU with like 50 scholorship players stops the run. Be semi decent at stopping the run and we cruise.
Second problem has been turnovers. Improve that alone and how many more games does Nebraska win under Pelini 5 to 10? Nebraska has been god awful in the turnover margin. Improve that and we are also golden.
It isn't a talent problem. I'm not sure why people arent focusing on these issues, but clean these up and Nebraska wins the division fairly easy IMO.
