Stop the Negativity...

Listen no one hates to see this season go down like this more than me. And I completely understand everyones frustrations with coaches and players alike. But the bottom line is we can't change anything that has already happened. We tell our players that "Its always about the next play!" Well that's where we are as a fan base. Are we going to let the errors of the past continue to bring us down or are we moving on to the next play.

This staff is working hard to fix things, despite what many of you think. No one takes on this job, in this state, with this fan base and doesn't give it all they have. The players and coaches are trying to overcome the multitude of obstacles that have hindered their success. But honestly right now one of their greatest challenges might be overcoming the constant barrage of insults, innuendo, accusations, etc... .

I get it. I really do. We want to see a great product, and when it isn't we want explanations. But at some point in a season like this the explanations begin to fall on def ears. There is nothing Riley and his players can say that will fix the past, or make anyone feel better about the future at this point. There actions will speak loudly in the next few weeks, but we have to do our part and cut out all of the bull shit comments and conspiracy theories.

I like reading drama as much as the next guy, but i'd much rather see a decent finish to this season, and a top notch recruiting class. And that can not happen with a pitch fork wielding fan base.

Talk about execution, bad play calling, screw ups in decision making, etc... all you want that's understandable; But if you truly want to see this program hold on from falling into the abyss the negativity has to stop.

Have you not read or heard the reports of no player rotation during games or most of the team standing around watching during practices? Looks to me like what I've been reading & hearing matches what I've been watching on Saturdays. I do believe optimists are more successful in life but that applies to ones own life, not something we really have no control over, like watching our favorite team on Saturdays.

No doubt our fan base is an advantage. And we should use it as such. Right now every comment about firing a first year coach with a beat up roster is doing the opposite of that. I get it. I really do. I was there at the front of the line barking for Cally to get canned. I watched Bo with hope and then sadness as we got destroyed by above average teams. I've seen bad play, more than I care to remember; but we have to give this thing a chance. If after next year, recruiting wanes, and the losses continue to mount, then by all means have at it. Until then I think we need to chill the F out.

I don't disagree with this but what good does it do us right now to call for a firing or continue to rehash the same ol rumors. We need to finish this season the best way possible, and more importantly get this recruiting class squared away. We make it harder on ourselves with each negative post. Riley is not getting fired. So lets get that clear, stop with those comments, and get a great recruiting class in here to build off of. If in a year or two it doesn't work out then go ahead an burn em at the stakes. Since no major change is really coming in terms of AD or HC, all that the continued vitriol does for people is increase their risk of heart attack or stroke or maybe scare a few recruits away

This staff is in over their head. Some people view it as being negative while others view it as the truth. Some fans are going to piss and moan, some fans will blindly defend and there will always be fans in the middle. Don't think that will ever change.

Well, perhaps we agree that nothing of significance happens until Perlman retires and Eichorst is removed. But I'd sure like to see a new DC next year. I'm gonna hope for that.

Calling for an end to negativity is kind of funny. There has been nothing but negativity on this board for about the last 5 years. We finally replaced the coach who was causing most or all of the negativity and have now replaced him with another coach who is having problems winning football games.

We need to see that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I think that a lot of fans aren't seeing it unless they feel that there are going to be at least some changes (position coach changes) made after the end of the season.

We will see how long MR's tenure is at NU. Unless you have a crystal ball or are a great tea leaf reader, I doubt that you can say with utter certainty that he'll be here next year or canned Nov 28 after the Iowa game. Furthermore, fan support (or lack thereof) has no impact on the results on the field...zero. If this team finishes 3-9 (not new territory for MR, by the way), it will be on this coaching staff and the moron that brought it here. It is time to start holding people accountable for their actions.

This staff has demonstrated time and time again they are in way over their heads. The unfortunate thing is how quickly the honeymoon ended. Riley is starting to get a feel for how this thing is turning. The gloves are off more in the press conferences and it is only going to get worse with more losses. I sincerely feel bad for the guy, because he really is a nice guy.

This might be a point except there's no real sign that anything the staff is doing is chasing off recruits.

As of yet, no one has decommitted, although there's always worry about Alexander. HTO listed the huge list of vists for this weekend, and even though we suck, most of these kids are visiting despite being committed to other schools. We still made KJJ's top 5. Hightower is coming back, even though we suck. We apparently got a nice committment today.

People are acting like everyone left, and only 8 man football kids from west Nebraska are even willing to discuss scholly offers.
