State Track

How about the Class A 100 meters:
1, Jaylen Lloyd, Omaha Central, 10.54. 2, Malachi Coleman, Lincoln East, 10.58. 3, Vince Genatone, North Platte, 10.63. Those kids were flying.
Were those times wind-aided?

Impressive, nonetheless.

I think Eric Crouch and Ahman Green's best times were 10.4.

The Crouch Swiney times in 97 look really slow. Guessing there was wind against them. Crouch ran 10.82 in qualifying (swiney 10.84) and then Swiney won with a 10.78 to Crouch's 10.96.

I wonder if Crouch was 100% by then. He had an ankle thing for most of the previous fall.

What we’re forgetting is these guys get faster in college.

As an example: BJ Lawerence from Northwest ran a 11.03 as a Junior in 2006. In 2007 BJ ran a 10.78. As a senior in college, BJ ran a 10.12. 12th fastest time in the world that year.
Weren't they comparing HS times? There is lots of "forgetting" in this thread.

Some get a lot faster. Others do not. I think that's why the good programs stay away from kids with an injury history or guys who haven't gotten a lot better since their sophomore year.
