Starting QB at Wisconsin will be...PC notes

They've actually done a good job since the line change
D has been solid all season. O line has been held together with spit and glue and has improved. RB's have improved. EJ has at least. Young WR's have played well. Been blocking great and running wide open. All our QB's have regressed. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to see why we are losing these close games. QB's. Period.

And coaching/play calling

agree the OL played well on Sat

too bad our chinless dipshit OC didn't trust them when it mattered most

Coach Matt Rhule Press Conference Notes | Wisconsin -HH has a pretty bad ankle sprain, will attempt to practice tomorrow-Chubba Purdy is a little banged up, but he is fine-Will have a diverse QB plan for Wisconsin-OL by far had their best game, the process they're putting in place is working for a lot of guys-Not going to win a lot of games with 5 turnovers, but to only lose by 3 says a lot-QB's need to be more intentional, can't just throw balls up-Shows the QB's a lot of basketball, references Kobe, to try and get the guys to trust their training-Wants our guys to play free and trust training-"I have a lot of confidence in Chubba"-Everything takes time, incremental improvement is the key-Showed the coaching staff a clip for Ohio State running a reverse that we ran vs. MSU, proving the point that its not the plays its that the players need to develop-The 3rd & goal play was not executed correct, was meant to be more of a corner ball to Kemp - "If it's wrong, its on me. Let's just leave it at that. It's easier that way. I have a say on everything"-"I wake up at 2:00 AM thinking about that"-Just want the guys to play, can't be a championship team being afraid to make a play-If we keep it simple, we're not going to be a competitive team at the highest level-Big difference between making mistakes and going against your training-Our players want to win more than anyone-Fans should be critical of the coaching staff-Instilling a mindset, culture, process is all happening - "it's going to continue to get better and better and better"-Firing people is ridiculous, doing that hasn't worked out here-Malcolm Hartzog hardly practiced last week, then went out and played his heart out-Ty Robinson told Coach that Nebraskans will continue to work, if they don't then "they gotta go"-Imagine Cam Lenhardt, Ethan Nation when they're seniors after the lessons learned this year-Defense has the mindset of "control what we can control"-Justin Evans-Jenkins and Teddy Prochazka are really hitting their stride-Ben Scott is playing on a hurt MCL-Noure came back 3 weeks early after receiving surgery-HH has a low release so his feet always have to be right-Coach Rhule was fired up for Elijah Robinson's interim HC job at Texas A&M-Elijah Robinson was with Rhule and Temple and Baylor, "he got too expensive" -Coaching is like the mafia - "you get hired eventually you get wacked"-Wisconsin is big physical and raw-Coach Rhule offered Tanner Mordekai when he was at Baylor-Don't think about the previous years games (probably a good thing)-Was not aware a Husker fan spit on a Maryland player while walking into the tunnel

That doesn't speak will for our coaches now does it? Guys with less ability and experience doing better than the guys who've been starting. I mean, there is something amiss with that.
I think as a coach you love that. There are guys on every team who maybe don't practice as well or prepare as well that when the lights come on they play way better than you think they will. Especially as they start to gain experience

Rhule can save the "too expensive" stuff

read the room

Well seeing as how Sims is "healthy", all they'd have to prepare for is "touch him lightly watch him fumble OR sit in zone and wait for ball to come to you"
Very obvious that opponents realize our QB's and RB's fumble so they are going to tackle the ball whenever they can. Not a QB on the team that is worth a scholarship although HH could probably be a decent TE.

I really dislike this quote from HCMR:
"If we keep it simple, we're not going to be a competitive team at the highest level"

You know what will help you become competitive at the highest level? Not missing out on 15 extra practices and a game at the end of the year!!! Run the dang ball 3 times on 1st and G at the 5, either score a TD or kick a FG, and make Maryland try to drive the field with 2+ mins left with 80K+ fans screaming. You have to get to a bowl game, period!! If your OC isn't smart enough to make the simple (CORRECT) calls when needed, you need to move on to a better OC who has common sense. There will always be second guessing of coaches, but you can't teach someone common sense.
